We'll look at BFG finest GeForce GTX 285 offering. See just like many of NVIDIA's board partners BFG offers the product in several flavors. The offer their regular OC edition yet also OC OC2 and OCX... More...
Wow I guess people change, a year ago you would never have come to this conclusion, you would've said ''sure the 4870 X2 may give you better performance for the price, but that's crossfire for you, and that's just not a solution that's ready yet'' so might one understand you think crossfire is becoming a viable solution ?
i fail to see why the 295 is pitted against the 4870 1GB with no X2 in there but never mind, good read.
352€ isnt so expensive for exactly this gpu OC edition with 666mhz core, lol my gpu was 320€ almost 2years ago.. hm not sure should i buy it or wait for g212
That's a mean overclock on that GDDR3, 3GHZ! The shaders are quite impressive too but the core is a little disappointing as even my standard clocked gtx 280 could do 740mhz, still an impressive card.
killer rams but i could go quad sli with my 295 for that price. edit no i cant this model is less then 420 at newegg
I'm getting an evga 285, step-up, so paying 90usd will give me the memory bandwidth I want until the 300 ddr5's come out. I'm sending a payment tonight. Don't think I'll be sorry.
Exactly... That'll mean they'll sell it for over $9000 CAD, I'm not paying that much for a video card. My entire computer isn't worth that much. Seriously though, I wonder if there ever will be a high end video card that is affordable. High-end and good price don't go together
I believe higher clocked shaders will provide more real-world performance gains than higher clocked core.
Maybe in F@H and some 3dmark benchmarks...but most games scale alot more with the core...something between 10:1 and 5:1 in favour of the core..only the g92 series of cards were a little more shader intensive due to having less rops and memory but with the gt200's, nvidia have moved back to the way g80's implemented memory and rop ratios making the shaders less significant.
