My z78 gigabyte mobo suffered from the boot loop bug, it would sometimes take a few attempts to boot when a good OC was applied, this bug was seriously widespread on gigabyte's z68s, perhaps the up7 has some kinda bug yet to be ironed out, there's many helpful folks on the gigabyte forums and they're always posting beta bios'.
It was a minor annoyance but nothing more.

Get ready for a bigger jump to hit 5ghz. I had to dial in 1.44v. Hitting 101c on linX even with watercooling and delid. Also summer over here Ambient was 26c

I have the 3770K,and have it cooled with the Antec 920. The CPU is overclocked to 4.2ghz.,and my temps have not exceeded 62c when gaming. I bought the CPU about 6 months ago,so I am wondering if the newer 3770's use a different paste than the first releases? Were there any changes since they were first released? Do the heat issues only show up when clocking higher than 4.2ghz? Did I just get lucky? Is 62c too high for a 3770K? Should I so that delid thing? Thanks all.

No point in delidding unless you're going above 4.5GHz regularly imo. For instance I'm more or less settled on a 24/7 overclock of 4.7GHz. I hardly went over 62c myself however I'm delidded, using liquid ultra (liquid pro is even better) on the die and ICDiamond 24 on my lapped IHS.

4.2GHz is a mild Overclock that I doubt required any extra VCore or VTT and 62c is about right I would say. Try clocking higher and see what happens with the temps:D.

I tried a 4.7ghz overclock, and my temps leaped well over 75c. 4.2 is indeed a mild overclock for the 3770,and that's where I'm going to keep it. Thanks.

I think I should have added, that I left my Antec settings on "silent" when I tried a higher overclock. I'm sure, had I set the cooling software to run a bit higher,my temps would have stayed a little closer to 62c. Problem would be the noise. On extreme settings, the 920 gets a bit too noisy. I guess if it ain't broke....Thanks again hallryu.
