Man seeing this price for a dual GPU i guess i won't have a chance getting the next dual gpu from them. 1000$ is to much. 850$ is max i can go for my next GPU.
i read 999$ then i said hell no, not till pc games actual will use the power of the now a day cards, which is no game, unless run stupid highly res
Why do people think getting 690 for £800 is expensive considering if i went and got 2x 2gb 680 reference card for sli thats would cost me £840-860 here in the uk? I mean they achieved close to 2 single in GTX680 in SLI with an awesome cooler... I also have looked on a few review sites that are saying people (must be beta testers) are having a lot of luck hitting 1300mhz core which is better than most reference cards out at the minute. A.This maybe due to chip binning which nvidia stated they were doing for the 690 B.10 power phases C.Better cooling design D.Due to lower power requirments (TDP to 300W) there more power on tap for OC (2x 8pin = 375W) I think it could be a brilliant card,if the reviews are good and a certain online retailer has them here in the UK ill be grabbing atleast 1 from day one
dunno about you guys, but i wouldnt be surprised if this thing ran cooler than two reference 680s. the reference 680s didnt come with a vapour chamber for reasons unbeknownst to me (whereas reference 570s and 580s did). so this card looks pretty good.

WOW! Nice Anti-Static precautions he's taken there :eek3: And, no Tri-SLI for Hexa-GPU gaming Also, did he say the GPU's are NOT downclocked?
Probably because dual GPU's in the past were not this close to being twice the price, as you can pick up 2 GTX680 for £820, but i think the 690 could be worth it due to the improved build quality. As you said, we will have to wait till the end of the week to see how the reviews and prices, and see how well it actually compares to 2 cards in performance and price, really looking forward to reading them as this is the first dual gpu i have every had an interest in.
for the simple reason of the current state of pc games, dont even use the true power of last gen cards or gen before that, DX11 still isnt defacto standard yet, only games that even push these cards are the piss poor console ports the pc gets. which make all that power these card have for there price, simply not worth it, to a standard consumer. And People that run this 3x monitors and those stupidly high resolutions are not your standard consumer either. Alot people are 1080p with AA/AF.
**** Tri-sli...Quads my friend @Tsunami your 100% right but you gotta admit this card is very nice and tempting.
That, is one sexy card. So I guess the price tag includes the crowbar? Personally, if I had the money, I'd buy one just to get the crowbar. Very useful for knocking some sense to AMD zombies.
and this card is quite clearly not aimed at those who game at 1080p, but instead those who game at high resolutions or refresh rates or use multiple monitors. You need the hardware to be common place for developers to work on the software, not the other way round.
Yeah, I don't think Hexa-GPU gaming is quite here just yet as the single SLI finger shows!! Defo need a new PSU for two of these puppies tho!!
Not necessarily, how about It is aimed at those who like 120 fps solid and who like to upgrade every 3 years
for that kind price it better last 10+ years, I make new pc ever 4 years and i dont even pay more then 400 to make those builds. 1k is outragous for any gpu imo.
Your forgetting that your getting 2x680s with a state of the art air cooler and the card looks nice, look at the performance you are getting!!
