I need some ram, 1600+ mhz for a good price, I have no clue about good ram xml profiles etc, just ram, I want to over clock etc lol any help would good, cheers! Thanks.
cheep 2x4gb kingston ram from pcworld, Iv had 1400 out of it no tweaking or crashing, i was looking for more +1600-1800, and my missus wants my old cpu and some ram, so il get new lol
is this any good? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMZ...TF8&qid=1377384941&sr=8-34&keywords=ddr3+16gb thanks for any help
No. What type of kingston do you have? Btw just so u know 16GB won't improve system performance at all. Might help with PhotoShop that's about it.
Dont know off hand as im at the missus, its ddr3 1333mhz 9-9-9-9-24-t1 if i remember right, 2x4gb from pcworld. i know 16gb wont be of use now for games, but in 2yrs it mite be.....
Well yes... upgrading flu..... :3eyes: I get my i7 3770k tuesday, and i have 1333mhz ram, its seems the norm is to have 1600mhz min, I want the max out my s*** lol
i would get at least 2133MHz My Crucial Balistix Elite CL9 2133MHz can do 2400mhz @ CL10-11-11-30 or 2666Mhz @ CL11-13-13-30 (1.65v in both cases)
So do you think i should get this one? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMZ...TF8&qid=1377384941&sr=8-46&keywords=ddr3+16gb or would two 8gb's be better? thanks for any help
It doesnt really matter about dimm size, well only if you want to buy another 16gb in the near future.. I would pick between these 3 http://www.amazon.co.uk/16-DDR3-213...377389104&sr=8-14&keywords=ddr3+16gb+cl9+2133 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ripjaws-PC1...1377389104&sr=8-1&keywords=ddr3+16gb+cl9+2133 i have this, really great stuff. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-BLE...377389104&sr=8-13&keywords=ddr3+16gb+cl9+2133
Will that ripjaws work fully with my motherboard tho? dont think its quad channel, only dual, soz im a newbe when it comes to memory lol
Yeah it'll work but you're seriously wasting your money. You could overclock what you have for free like I suggested. Btw memory doesn't have channels, motherboards do. Single/Dual/Triple/Quad just means it comes in a kit of 1/2/3/4 matched sticks. Really that cash would be better spent on a upgrading the CPU or GPU.
Ive got a new cpu, i thought the ram would hold me back a bit seen as its 1333, i dont know how far i could push this ram i have, it doesnt even have heat s*** lol
^If it's KVR it might have Hynix IC's. Go into the BIOS right now set your ram manually to 1600 9-9-9-24--1T and hit F10. If your sticks are bad overclockers you'll soon know cuz it won't reboot.
Just going to say that running the ram at 1.65volts is beyond intel recommended spec. Might run fine and dandy but it is beyond specifications for the latest intel boards/cpu's.
