The spongecake tasted really cheaply made, not like real spongecake and the cream didn't taste like real cream. Little Debbie snack cakes (which no doubt also cut corners) tasted a lot more real.
We had them over here in Australia a while back. Then one day nothing. Didn't know they went out of business. I loved them. Don't know why but the mention of the Twinkies reminds me of that black cop in the movie DIE HARD who always had a pack handy....
You guys dont really know your twinkies do you? They are dead to me,if you had one in the last few years you would know why
Sadly the crunch of the sugar is gone just like the twinkie, they are full of this white tasteless airy stuff.
Last twinkie I had was a deep fried one (that was an experience and a long story) and before that had not had one in about 7 years or some absurd number but I will miss the Hostess powdered donuts.
Unfortunately it's not just twinkie's, but many other brands / items that are also going away from stores. I'm sure someone will step in and buy them out to start selling the brand, but not without making it cheaper and a reduced work force. I prefer moon pies anyway and only get them when I travel south or family brings them up.
not over with the union just yet http://www.dailyfinance.com/2012/11/19/twinkie-hostess-brands-union-judge-orders-mediation/
