    I thought only the 6970 was dual gpu so far..until the 6990
    "http://forums.********************/showthread.php?p=18005397"
    Sorry...link didnt work from ******************** but here`s a quote

    "The ATI Radeon HD 6970 uses a new GPU architecture from AMD which features dual graphics engines in one chip with 24 SIMD engines and a total of 1536 stream processors with 96 texture units, providing massively parallel computing power for graphics and other accelerated applications. Its core clock speed of 880MHz, together with a dedicated high speed interface to 2GB of GDDR5 memory running at 1375MHz (5.5Gb/s effective) delivers the highest performance in this series. New Tesselation engines bring up to three times the performance of the previous generation, and new Enhanced Quality AA and filtering modes bring the highest image quality ever achieved."

    That quote explains some architectural details about the new GPU powering these cards, but this should clear your doubts

    5970 -> 6990
    5870 -> 6970
    5850 -> 6950
    5770 -> 6870
    5750 -> 6850

    That's the new naming for this series. The new high end are the 6950 and 6970, and the dual GPU card is the 6990 coming in a few weeks IIRC.

    I have no doubts...just quoting what i`d read,the 5870 or the 6950 didnt have dual graphics engines in one chip,the card i found is from HIS

    That just means that part of the chip has been doubled to improve efficiency.
