CRT TV 28" (72 cm) with DTT recevier (NOTE: Analog TV hasn't progressive scan support):
Test card: RTP Internacional - Lisboa (Portugal) in end of 90s - 1 - do you remember that? :)
Color test - SD (standard definition)

    CRT monitor 17" Samtron 70E (1999 - now still working :)):
    Color test (original) - 1
Color test in NVCP - 1

CRT monitor 21" Samsung SyncMaster 1100P+ (2004 or '05 because I bought it only on may, 2010) :D:
    Color test (original) - 2
Color test in NVCP - 2
Test card: RTP Internacional - Lisboa (Portugal) in end of 90s - 2

CRT TV and monitor 17" are in cellar while monitor 21" is in my bedroom . :)

IMPORTANT: click these photos and re-click to enlarge to 100%.

    Questions:
    1. CRT monitors are much better than CRT TV -> Why?
    2. CRT monitor 21" is better than 17" :D -> Why?

NOTE: Sorry for photos have flicker. But the auto-focus isn't good in digital photography (camera HP Photosmart R817). And unfortunately this camera hasn't BMP support (but yes JPEG only) -> I would want BMP because BMP is better than JPEG for almost 100% clean color dirty and for ultra high quality. ;)

Yes, I was just thinking that.

To the OP I don't think CRT's are of very much interest to us nowadays.

The answer to question 1: The maximum resolution supported by a Standard Definition Television is only 720x480 or 620x480 (480i for ATSC/NTSC) and 720x576 or 786x576 (576i for PAL/SECAM) whereas CRT monitors are designed to support much higher resolutions.

The answer to question 2 is based on too many variables to explain properly without having the full technical specs for both displays.

:) but sorry, you should answer more things both my questions because you got "short" and incomplete reasons... and I have knew it.

EDIT: 620x480 is bad but yes 640x480; 786x576 bad but yes 768x576.

Do i need to relearn my first language or does that really make as little sense as i think? Bad english is acceptable but you aren't even trying to make sense.

28" isn't monitor (computer) but TV only and CRT monitor 24" is larger monitor widescreen (Sony FW900 and few brands) while 22" is larger monitor 4:3 (Samsung SyncMaster 1200DF... :)).

    You have lack of answers!?

Almost nobody cares about CRT's circa 2012. And stop making threads, not ONE person here can understand a damn thing you say.

hi,why are some of you being nasty,im guessing a lot of you have never even used a crt monitor,

there is only one way to answer this thread really, the main reason CRT monitors looked better was due to the dot pitch size...smaller dp the better the higher resolutions looked,if you look closely at an old tv screen you`ll see tiny vertical bars in red, green and blue each group of rgb bars is a dotpitch and each dp displays one pixel, old tv`s tended to use staggered pixels compared to good monitors and todays tv`s which tend to use pixels in straight lines allowing for digital images to be displayed better,

as for different sizes...its all down to how many horizontal and vertical dots per screen

a few years ago the high end crt monitors were still better than lcd tv`s but those days are long gone and lcd firmly has its place in technology and as a display medium
