Intel’s replacement for Ivy Bridge-E and Sandy Bridge-E will have eight cores and a 3GHz clock speed. Intel is expected to launch Haswell-E sometime in the third quarter of 2014. Haswell-E...

Ok guys. This is IT for me. Spending is ending here. No more gadgets.

From this moment on I will start saving for Maxwell and Haswell-E and DDR4. :D

Would be a nice upgrade, native USB3, PCIE3 and DDR4 support too.
(I'll probably wait before upgrading again however, bit too expensive for me to upgrade that often.)

Boom called it, people said the 8 core chip would be extreme version only an $1000. Now we know the 8 core is going be extreme an K version. With the 6 core version replacing current 4820 IB-E which is 4 core. First 6 core version below $300 from Intel, thumbs up.

Oh yes it's going be expensive, but worth it if you ask me.

price of decent quad channel DDR4 kit, probably make your eyes water

    Ohhh my!
Q3 2014 is a bit far off at the moment (plus give +1Q for these puppies to appear in Russia), but I am definitely upgrading to this!

New chipset sounds good, though bragging about 8 cores is a bit facetious when AMD have been doing it for years, ouch at 140W TDP, though. I guess DDR4 is an unknown entity regardiung performance. Be interesting to see what it can do anyway.

I may wait for this myself tbh, The R4BE is so hard to get in the UK i may as well wait.
I see there still using that seriously out of date Intel PCH chip, no need to watercool the chipset then apart from the Mosfets.

Why the rampage 4 e has a block for this area is beyond me.

8 full cores though with 16 threads with HT enabled

sure AMD has 8 cores too, but it performs badly cause it's sharing resources

Sounds interesting but I think I'll go Broadwell for my next cpu upgrade.

IIRC, DDR4 is one DIMM per channel only.
