    Changed ISP, with TalkTalk now

Seems around the same as when I had BT 8mbit, although when downloading it actually seems slower so I'm not sure. :O

Because speedtest.net is not reliable at all, since the max for you is actually 7150kbit (thats if your on fast path too).

887KB/s would likely be the burst rate rather than the actual max you recieve sustainably.

Its all in megabits anyway, the most you can get is 7.15 megabits per second when on fast path (fast path is where your isp forces the dslam to drop interleaving making it both faster and more likely to get errors).

Uhm well, 887KB/s is ~7,1Mbit, so Aircool is right, no?

i dont think connection speed means crap when downloading from typical sites.

most of my downloads are 500kb's per second on average some go up almost 800kb's
    and its a 6gig connection.

my problem was upload rate, max 8kilobytes per second( dialup speeds ) in old gaff( usually 6-7 ) ment e.g. clicking on screenshot thread here would lock out all web access, was a POS tbh
