This weekend i did some modding again.First i started with cutting out the hole for the panel column and then sanded the top.

    First i draw the hole.

Then i cut it out whit a jigsaw and sanded the hole.

    Time to fit the top.

Fits like a glove so time to sand and degrease the top.

The top im gonna paint with bootslak its paint for boats and its abrasion resistant .

Put on the first layer.I can repaint it after 24 hours

I want to put on 3 layers a side so its gonna take some time.Mean while im drawning some parts im needing for the inside of the desk.

    More to come. :)

    Update 15.

First i want to announce a new sponsor namely SteelSeries. They sponsord me with some awesome gaming gear.

    The gear.

Thanks a lot SteelSeries and specially Geoffrey and Chris.

The last week i was busy sanding and painting the top.First i choose for 6 layers but i change that into 8 layers.I still have 2 layers to go.So some more sanding and painting.

Because the wood gives the desk a more classic look i decide to also use some wood in the inside.I ordered some more wood and i hope it arrives soon.

Time to do some work. The 90 degree reservoirs didnt look right inside the desk so i had to make some new ones.Again a new design. :D

First i cut 4 pieces off stainless steel pipe and drilled some holes in them.

Then i made 8 disks of stainless steel.Four of them with G1/4 thread and four without holes.

Then i was time for some welding and sanding.

These four pieces are done so on the the next pieces.Again some drilling, welding and sanding.

this build is simply amazing- I reallt love- yes love- the steel/timber combination just superb
Just hope there aren't too many flashing lights and stuff which from my opinion would detract from a beautiful piece of workmanship

Looking forward to more updates as and when they come

p.s. ( might be my favourite build of all time-sorry L3;)

Only thing I can really say is this is sweet. Although I would probably have taken a router to the outer edges to give it more of a "trim peice" look, but that's just personal preference for me. Looks very very nice though.

    Update 16.

First work today was sanding the oak top and give it another layer of bootslak.

Then it was time to continue with the reservoirs. The next pieces im gonna make from oak again.

First i made 18 little disks to use as spacers.

18 stainless steel plates with 3 holes in them.

Then i made 2 stainless steel axes with M8 thread.

Welding the axes on 2 plates and sand them.

All parts are done so time to mount them together.

The reservoirs are not finisht yet.I have to paint the spacers with bootslak and make some feet for the reservoirs.

    More to come.

    Update 17.

For starters i received a package friday with a second GTX 580.My weekend starts awesome.

Thanks a lot ZOTAC and specially Chris.

I also received the oak i have orderd so i can continue with the inside of the desk.

But first i have to finish the reservoirs.I painted the spacers with bootslak.

Now its time to make the feet for the reservoirs. For this i cut 2 pieces of stainless steel.

Then i took some stainless steel and made 6 axles.

The idea was to use only 1 axle per feet but i decided to use 3 axles so i had to drill a few more holes. Then i welded 2 axles on the feet.

Then i welded the 2 other axles on the reservoirs..

    All parts together.

The reservoirs will be mounted on the mobotray with the 3 holes on the picture below.

1st of all WOW great looking project! Very professional yet very simple but simple as in elegant and clean definitely not easy! :wanker:

Now this is probably abit early for these questions but IMO no harm in asking :nerd:

If you were to sell one complete including the WC components but minus the actual computer itself how much would you ask? (ball park figure)

Could you make one in a sort of Ikea fashion? whereby its in bulk parts to put together (for fitting through small doors)?

Again this is top notch, you should think about going to the market with it if you can get a blue print down, build to order type thing that way your not losing money on ones you've made but not sold :)
