780TI prices are higher than 780 typical nvidia, unless they have a stunner. on the other hand 780 to 499$ looks VERY ATTRACTIVE as i would buy it over 290x any day, 770 at 330$ is good.

So nvidia play the price game to the best when they want, and to the worst haha

my 680 is very fast and very capable, but if 499$ carries to my country i might get GK110 before Maxwell hits

Nice I guess but I realllly doubt I would see the $499 equivalent price for the 780 even for new stock and Nv doesn't bundle games in their cards in all regions so meh (for me).

Prices on Scan starting at £399, nice! was hoping this was about to happen! Now to buy new or to wait for the second hand market to catch up and buy for £300-350.. hmmm

i wonder is it worth giving up 680 for 780? considering if i do it my next card will be maxwell refresh and it seems that maxwell gonna teach kepler a lesson :D

    hmm

^ I found the jump from GK104 to GK110 really noticeable. Higher minimum frame rates is the biggest thing for me..

There probably will be a significant difference but I would suggest you look into purchasing an used 680 instead. IMHO that's the most efficient use of an upgrade whether it is till Maxwell or afterwards.

Yeah, get the 780 as the extra 1GB VRAM should help upcoming games run smoother than they would have on 2GB and later on get Maxwell's refresh.

My motherboard will limit the SLI to X4/X4 and i hate dual card.

Hmm seems going from GK104 to GK110 will be good, anyone that did that and very happy?

    Hmm really, $499 USD for a 780?

Well ditch the R9-290X idea then. Guess I'm going SLI in the near future.

I kind of wanted to avoid SLI/Xfire setups if I could, but this is too good of a deal and with BF4 right around the corner.

Soon as these drop, I guess I'll pick one up.

Yep, now its really worth it.

Although that shop with cheapest 387€ stock Zotac 780GTX disappeared from Geizhalz.eu heh.. Actually all cheapest prices from that store are gone.

    Now its from 420-470€.

Hopefully that 699$ for 780Ti translates in 509€, that would still be very cheap imo.

there is no hope for weak amd :(

now 780ti is gonna crush 290x, 780 will simply be faster than 290...and q1 2014 there is maxwell in game :( bad moments for the red team are coming again:bang:

    @Warlord
Not really.. both high-end 20nm products (Vulcanic Islands and Maxwell) are due Q3-Q4 2014, apparently and imo it will be something like that.

There is no loss for AMD either - its not "weak", the only flaw by 290X is its hot. But you can fix that a bit with custom fan profile, default is way to slow. Nvm custom coolers, those can keep it Cool at 1200mhz.

Edit: Undying pretty much nailed it ;D
