BFG GeForce GTX 260 OCX MaxCORE tested

NVIDIA was seeking for some more performance in the GTX 260 series they need to give it a little more bite. And though I'm sure that yet another SKU will drive...

One thing's for cirtain, 2-5 fps won't be worth the price hike.

A simple few more shaders has less effect when there's more of them originally on the card, its all hype really.

Personally, if i was the one to buy a 8800 GTS 640 and then the 8800GTS 512 came out and flattened it i'd of been gutted, but this time the performance difference is nigh on irrelevant.

If HD4870 was released almost month and a half later it would probably be kicking someones ass too. NVIDIA is just fixing it late... Now AMD can also make a small correction to HD4870 and kick GTX260 Rev2 once again...

Well that sucks, I'm sure my overclocked 4870 is still competing well. 840/1100

Mna this is hard. Good review by the way!! Now I am up in the air if I want a 9800GTX+ or the Revised GTX260. I guess since I am selling my 7800GTX and, my 17inch monitor for a 22inch, I guess I can spit out the extra dough for the 260. What do ya'll think?

Thanks for the heads up! I think I will do that! Hopefully this card will last me 2 1/2 years! SLI on these cards are fantastic!! I have the ability with my 650i board, but I doubt I would need that much power anytime soon.:speed:

I wonder what current owners of the 280 think. The 216 really comes close to that one. That makes the 280 less attractive to upgrade to too.

This is definitely a card worth to consider buying, imo...

To be honest they don't really need that unless they're really chasing the crown. Already proven low price, very new tech and high performance is all anyone needs. Not to mention this crappy confusion where ppl will be buying old GTX 260 thinking they got new one. And i think that was NVIDIA's intention in the first place. Smart but not so good when users find out they were basically ripped off...

Cheapest GTX260 is £160 in the UK... this thing is now the most expensive at £250 and £220
