what cpu cooler are you using?

First version of Mugen 3, not the latest revision.
It's also on being in a room temp (of ~28C, and a bit humid).
With air conditioning turned on (set to ~26C) however, temps are ~69C for CPU and ~67C for GPU, so it's quite normal.

Is 75C safe for 24/7 folding with a Sandy proc?

In my experience it safe, but I won't expect cpu to last long.
    I got mine 2500k on 4.5Ghz with 1.35v. Corsair H50 keeps it under 60C.

I don't recommend going over 1.4v for 24/7. Don't haste over a few hundreds MHz, better set it to 4.4GHz and fold save.

    Nope, mine's not over 1.4v.

Planning to go get the Core version of H70, unless Corsair plans to release another Core version from the rest of their H-series lineup; wouldn't want to put the NF-P12 fans to waste, and I don't need extra fans.

aye, that'll keep your cpu cool.

(reference) I also set Zalman CNPS9900 MAX on another rig (c2d 8400E). Temps not going higher than 45C there (@stock). By far the best air cooler I had.

    Oh, right, I almost forgot.
My case isn't exactly one with the best airflow; it's an NZXT H2. =b
So an air-cooling solution is actually a bit going in the wrong direction, even if I have an NH-D14; a self-contained solution like Corsair's or Antec's is a more proper way to do it.

The reason I have that Mugen 3 installed is because it's the one I used on my previous case, and temps weren't too high.
Currently on this H2 with air conditioning on (26C) and GPU not folding, it's hitting ~62C @4.5GHz, so it's not really that bad.
My GPU is a factory OC-ed MSI TFII 560 Ti, so it does spread the heat around.

Also, I don't setup the fans to be push-pull on the Mugen 3, because the Vengeance sticks...well, stick out.
The two NP-F12 fans are setup to be in a pull config on the Mugen 3, and the other to exhaust the hot air from the back; at the top of the case I already have the NF-P14 installed.
Got two fans also running on the front, but since H2 is designed to reduce noise, it's mostly foam padding behind the front cover, so air intake isn't exactly superb.
The fans also have filters on them, but I won't remove them; the dustbunnies over here are reproducing so fast.
There's also one 140mm fan at the bottom for intake but that's it; also filtered.

Or buy a better ventilated case....which is what I'm looking for.

Personally, I'm better off just getting an H70 Core.
I'm an OCD on cable management, but I'm not fond of spending another evening just to zip tie those cables on the 'back' of the motherboard plate.

Wish I had that option. I get the joy of testing new fan configurations to get temps down. Unfortunately, my folding has been suspended for an undetermined amount of time due to financial constraints.

I said "screw it" lastnight and loaded up F@H. Set 2 GPU slots with default values and let it go. My GT640 is up to 4K PPD and my GTX660 is at 13K PPD. First time I've seen my GTX660 successfully start folding....but it's actually completing work units!!! Both cards are topping out at 48C.... Not sure exactly what's wrong but the GT640 is actually completing the same work units that were taking it nearly 2 days before, in less than 12hrs now....

Yep, I also have some joy in testing fans.
It's just the cable management from having a new case that I don't like.

In any case (ha-ha), I'll get an H70 Core tomorrow; will do some tests and post results here later on.
For the moment, folding is suspended due to R&R activities. =b

I managed to fold for just under 24hrs....then hard locked. Got it folding again and less than 4hrs later...hard locked again. So, until I determine the cause of the lockups....I've had to suspend folding again. At least my GT640 and GTX660 combined, are drawing less power than my GTX560Ti did for similar performance.

Yeah yeah, laugh it up....but when I get my temp issues sorted (or have a case built completely out of fans)....I'll be the one laughing!!!! lol
I'll be playing with fan configurations again tonight. Hopefully temps will be better afterwards.

    No kidding.
I've cleaned and reapplied the thermal paste on my card quite a few times and I still can't get over how BIG the GPU is.

I went back to a Kuhler 620....got temps back below 70C (68C peak). Got to looking at CPU voltage and it was nearing 1.37v. Set CPU voltage to 1.25v. Now temps are looking good. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the CPU is downclocking anymore. Only pulling about 390watts with GTX660, GT640 and 2600K at full load....
