I got a Palit GTX680 yesterday. Its just a stock GPU , but I prefer it that way. At least now all the heat is getting dumped outside my case and my GPU is quiet all the time. The GTX580 I had had a Palit dual fan on it and most of the heat got umped into my case and it was noisey as hell when gaming even though I didnt OC the card.

Duh... EVGA just couldn't deliver cards so I was basically forced to switch. So, hopefully MSI version arrives next week (same price).

Got my EVGA 680, 3D Vision 2 Kit, and 16GB (4x4GB) Corsair RAM on Friday evening, installed them, gamed a little bit on the new components yesterday to test out the graphics power, the stereoscopic 3D factor, and the increase in memory performance, and I have to say, I'm quite impressed with these upgrades! I'm gonna have to say good riddance to the old Patriot Viper solution and the HD 5850 that it replaced. Now I'm gaming on a platform that has GPU and RAM that's at least twice as good as what it replaced.

Finally got this bad boy and LOVING it. Completely smooth gameplay in Batman: Arkham City and Battlefield 3 with every damn thing maxed out, even 32xCSAA, FXAA, and 8xSSAA (for transparency) where they can be enabled.

Total War: Shogun 2 was not a fan of the 32xCSAA and the 8xSSAA (for transparency), however.

So, wich brand of 680's is reaching more OC?
Is it Gainward a good option?

Im between Gainward, Asus or factory OC'ed EVGA GTX680 SC+ 2GB (with backplate).

This just goes to show how an overclock can be stable with every game you play until the one with which it isn't! To elaborate, I've been using my GTX 680 with core/memory clock offsets of +150/+400 MHz respectively since I bought it with any problems.

However, when I loaded up Deus Ex: Human Revolution the other day for the first time in ages I noticed flashes of red/green lighting while walking around Shanghai even though the GPU temp never got above 60 C. So I lowered my memory clock offset to +350 MHz and the flashing with gone. Raise it to +375 MHz or 400 MHz and it returns. Yet every other game I've played, of which there have been many far more demanding than DX:HR, have been issue free.

almost a month has passed, but it's still a real miracle finding 680 in retail stores (the ones on ebay are too overpriced)

If you think you were blown away by this card, my last comp was a core 2 duo 1.6Ghz, intel Integrated 945GM, 1GB DDR Ram...

    I'm s***ting my pants
