Ordered a Razer Deathadder Black Edition, I'll see how it goes. If it's horrible sensor wise, I'll probably just slap in the old DA insides.
My logitech g5 died on me last night,ah well not bad for 6 years,i loved that mouse, now using the g500,so far so good
Normally, just unticking "enhanced pointer precision" in the Windows mouse properties should be enough. It's mainly in older and badly coded games where for some reason EPP get's reactivated again. Though in general I still would use a mousefix, that way you'll be sure. A registry fix won't do anything unless the game actually enables EPP. The fix just makes the curve lineair again. Oh that sux, long life tho 6 yrs...I have G500 but miss my G5 (died from drowning in OJ). G500 buttons are all positioned wrong (imo)..good laser tho.
My G5 just started flaking( just needs resoldering ) so i bought a g9 and got it last night, love it already, pricey but my G5 lasted 6 years so 60euro for a g9 for me is worth the price( i realise its not everyones cup of tea ). haha snap man
So, my friend bought Razer Mamba and did not care about sensor problems which I told about (shape was good and so on). Took under 2 weeks before he had to return it (tracking problems) and bought SteelSeries Xai
Well if he liked the shape, the DA Black Edition is pretty solid so far. They finally fixed my only gripe about the DA... RUBBER SIDES OW YEAH (sry for going a little mental but when I had the old DA I raged so many times at the plastic sides being uncomfortable).
Ok i have a question. When im using my g500 am i supposed to set the dpi to the highest setting and then set the mouse sensitivity ingame to how i like it? Is this the way to do it?
^ Probably yes but the bundled SetPoint software has always been a POS with Logitech so I never use it on my MX518.
The new Setpoint for the G500 and G9x is pretty ok. Though you're right about the old ones (mx518 and others), it was pure evil.
Yeah remember the "setpoint could not be installed" [sic] message, then having to screw around deleting wdf1000 files etc...? Oh and the sensitivity bug (since fixed)...lol Thankfully those days are behind us now (knock on wood).
Wow.. I have been using and loving my Logitech G5 for a few years now and after reading this, it looks like it is on the lower end of the spectrum.. All is know is that I hate the idea of the Razr Naga so much that I refuse to buy a Razr mouse. I made a gaming mouse poll so that we can keep easy track of which mice people have had good experiences with.
Best Experience so far: Deathadder (old and Black Edition) Steelseries Xai Logitech G400 Somewhere in the middle: Logitech G500: Awkward sensor placement + shape is slightly bigger --> I don't like it Epic fail: Razer Imperator: Z-Axis issues
Finally got my epic combination after ordering new mouseskates (screws are under some of them): The old Deathadder 1800 DPI sensor with firmware 1.28 NDC (Impact Prediction), 1.08 Drivers and the Black Edition shape \o/ Scroll was broken from my old DA (and hated the glossy sides), but luckely, aside from a few details on the circuit boards, the design is pretty much the same so I used the BE's scroll.
Hey, got any info about Ulti-Mat Chill ? What I found about from reviews is that software isnt on pair with the one which comes with Xai and scroll isnt the best out there. ATM I'm not buying new mouse, but just curious about that. I have only found Finnish and Swedish reviews. I wonder if it's any popular with pro gamers.
