I can't for the life of me reproduce that, even though my notebook specs are near identical: HD3000 + 525M, 2x4 GB RAM. CPU is i7-2620, chipset HM65 though.

He just said that he can't reproduce it so no he doesn't have the problem, also it's just "System" not "system.exe".

    https://forums.geforce.com/default/...-326-xx-with-gpu-monitoring-software-running/

So I just report the issues and also steps to reproduce at the Nvidia forum.

    Steps to reproduce:
1.Running process monitoring software(Process Explorer for example) to observe the Working Set of System
2.Run monitoring software(NVIDIA System Tools, Msi afterburner etc.)
    3.Close monitoring software
4.Repeat step 2 to 3, or running the monitoring software for a long time

Hope the OP can confirm this also happen on your side.

try to use combofix(download from google, deactivate antivirus protection temporally and let it work.
After 50 passes it will reboot your machine and show a report.
I had some weird blue screens lately linked to nvidia files and using combofix got rid of all problems.
Before that i changed several drivers with same blue screens over and over, so if now you don't have bluescreens it may be a question of moments that you will have....
You can try also sfc /scannow in command prompt, maybe you have some system corruption, who knows.

Sounds like you had a Bitcoin miner affecting GPU usage.
Combofix might help with that, but NVidia is not to blame.

@Sqook, how are your temperatures btw? You could be running a miner as well :p
EDIT: nevermind, it doesn't explain the difference in mem usage you're seeing. Or maybe it's just a badly coded miner tied to hardcoded driver versions ;) (e.g. 326.xx)

but he's getting the problem after a clean install.

are you getting the problem with all r326 drivers?
    or just specifically 326.29?

are you using proper notebook drivers?

if you are having issues with 326.xx, i would avoid them completely and just stick with 320.xx for the time being, since you said you dont have any problem with those.

Stop using 326.xx then. Laptops can be extra difficult to get working with specific driver sets... They have special motherboard+video combinations and you are using a non-laptop driver?

Are you trying to use 326 driver for better performance? A new driver isn't going to make a gt525m magically better.

So my post has been ignore, but anyways, I also has this issue, with or without monitoring tools.
And I also found something strange, it will stay at the 3d clock for a few mins, but not with the 326.01

If I am right, and you don't playing BF3, Assassin 3, try 326.01.
I can't remember 326.01 has this such higher memory usage/leak.(4GB!)

The difference between 320 bench and 325 bench is, they has more clock, so it can be more cooler.(but more issues)
    135, 147*, 162*, 180*, 202/203*, 231*, 270*, 405, 585*, 759*, 797*.... 835-950Mhz.
    *=New frequency/clock
    ---
Nope, 326.01 also has this leak issues, so this leak only for 325 bench.
I also back to 320.49 and so far no leak happen.

Every once in a while I get a similar problem with System but it doesn't go crazy using RAM, instead it will cause my processor to run at 14.9% and it sometimes that low CPU usage will actually cause my mouse to stutter. I ran process Explorer, right clicked on system, then chose properties. Under the threads tab it listed the item using the 14.9% as ntoskrnl.exe!KeGetCurrentProcessorNumber____ and i don't recall which one it was. But i think it was 0x34.

I've ran every antivirus and portable scan tool I can think of and so far no virus or malware detected. I actually think it is a driver issue and downloaded Windows Performance Analyzer which is part of the Windows SDK which will tell me if it's a driver issue. One guy on Microsoft's tech site had the same problem caused by a networking driver. It hasn't happened again since I downloaded that program, so i'll have to wait till it pops up again.

Oh... I forgot to add that this started happening after installing 326.29 which is why I think it's driver related.
