Hey guys I am an avid PC gamer and just wanted to see if there is anything I should be upgrading to? I have Razer peripherals, Razer Blackwidow 2013 KB, Razer Naga 2013 mouse, Razer Goliathus mousepad. You all can see my hardware and to me it looks like I'm being held down a little by my cpu at the moment, is it time for an upgrade and resell of my old stuff or should I wait for the new 2011's a little later down the road. I have a 24'' Acer LED monitor 1080p as my accessory monitor and an ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 144Hz 1ms HDMI Widescreen LED as my gaming monitor. I could list more things I have if need to know anything. Basically I was going to get a Playstation 4 but decided against it as there really isn't anything I want to play and most of the good games I will be playing, are coming out for PC either way. Thanks! Matt
Yeah well I have run a bunch of GPU tests and my CPU is def a bottleneck if there is any. Plus I've been doing more Adobe After Affects and video applications as of late, so hyper-threading wouldn't necessarily be a waste, I went to school for that stuff. Kinda waiting for the new GTX 790 actually, might resell my GTX 690 make back like half of what the 790 is and go from there if the performance is worth it.
It's not a troll question, I want constructive feedback if possible, if not don't need to answer every post out there, lol.
Well I have an LGA 1155 Motherboard, what can I get with my current Gigabyte Z68X UD3H-B3 motherboard? I can't get a 4770K or anything right? Those are LGA 1150.
if you can sell your old for good money, then I don't see a problem. It will be faster by video editing, also extra threads will help by newer games.
Yeah so you're thinking about getting a new CPU & Motherboard then and sell what I have now then or just get a 3770K? Idk if that's worth it, if I'm going to upgrade I'd rather get newer tech atleast.
Well what about getting another 690 for now for around $500ish for now? Then when I wanna do my big upgrade when the Broadwells come out I can do a bigger CPU / Motherboard / Ram upgrade at that point?
Two options that I have come up with at this point. 1. Grab another GTX 690 and SLi for now 2. Wait and grab the new GTX 790 and sell my current 690 for some of the money back.
