I just bought a haswell pentium for new system that will be used for basic stuff.. If i have a budget of around 500- what other components should i use to get the most out of this processor...Thanks...:bang:
What? What's wrong? That is a Haswell Pentium he linked to. Haswell architecture (LGA1150), Pentium series (2 cores with no HT).

Don't shoot me down by saying this, but if I got a budget end computer: - AMD A6-3400K (about the same price as the Haswell Pentium) - an A88X chipset based FM2+ motherboard (upgradeable to Kaveri APU's next year) - DDR3-2133 RAM - a SSD of some description That would be a quite decent performing budget system that is also upgradeable to the Steamroller core APU's next year if you so wish In terms of the Haswell Pentium, what do you want to do with it? Much the same recommendation for it but with a H87 motherboard.

The CPU does have onboard video so in terms of using it as a "basic" pc you can use onboard, if you want dedicated then probably have to shift all the other models a little lower or change some of the parts to cheaper ones to compensate. The H55 can be turned to cheaper air alternative. The RAM can be 4GB (from 8GB) The motherboard can be lowered to a different model. Case can be changed SSD for HDD etc...
Intel never abandoned the Pentium name. They've been using it for the low end models since the Pentium days and are part of every CPU generation since.
