Or maybe.... just maybe.... that it doesn't take a genius to think of such a start to a zombie flick :bang:
I missed it was waiting all week for it then an emergency came up,i hate that. i'm looking for it on comcast infinity right now.
i can only sum up the show as: SUPERB. great acting, the special effect are almost better than many of the recent hollywood zombie movies, the story is interesting and i'm sure it will unfold and explain what happend during the time the sheriff was in bed @ the hospital. The Walking Dead, on my watch list. :nerd:
Watchin' the first episode right now On Demand actually.. Seems excellent so far. I read the director is friends with Stephen King.
I no longer watch TV (it's ON, I just don't watch it). But I looked at this thread and downloaded this to see what you were all 'a fussin bout'. My Verdict: Some of the Zombie make-up was very well done..... best I've seen. The rest of the show: Sorry, I hate to be negative, but dull as dishwater, I fast forwarded through it, then deleted it. It's all been done before and much better. (No.... I'm not missing anything.... TV is still crap these days). I thought the thread needed a nay sayer for once and I can't understand why everyone is going ape**** over this at all.
It's been done better in movies. When was the last time there was a full TV series dedicated to zombies? Other shows have had maybe a handful of episodes and a mediocre budget. Here we got a decent budget, 13 episodes in season 1, and possibly a season 2 incoming. 5.3 million viewers on the pilot means this could become a multi season show! Movies have done it better, but with only an hour and a half of screentime. Here we're going to look at 10.5 hours of post apocalyptic zombie fiction, so fans of the genre are understandably excited. Anyway, you can't judge a TV series just on the pilot you gotta give it a few episodes. Anyway, episode one is up on hulu though I watched it through daily motion's hulu.
He didn't judge it on one episode as he fast forwarded through it. Looks great to me, and Darabont is usually very good at this type of stuff, will save the episodes up though before watching.
Great show, been a long time since i got excited to actually watch something on TV, last show i watch intently was Dead Set (another zombie show, just as gory and bleak). Looking forward to more.
I just hope they try and stick as close as they can to the comic series, there were a few differences here and there that I thought were a bit pointlessly added in. All and all though I think its one of the better film adaptations of a comic, really impressive stuff for a tv show.
I enjoyed the pilot alot, very excellent show. IMO, it's better than 95% of all the other Crime, Drama, and Reality shows that flood cable these days. I'm looking forward to the next episode Sunday.
Finally got to see the episode on repeat friday night and I really enjoyed it. I liked the mix of slow pace and action, good character development, and interesting twists.
First Episode was OK. It was really lacking in the music/score for the mood of the scenes. That guys wife didnt even look like a zombie, and I thought it was strange that she tried to open the door. Zombies dont have memories maan. I thought it was absurd when the sherrif gave the Dad the bolt action rifle and say "its a good gun". Even a bat would be better to have than a bolt action when you are swarmed. I'll watch a few more eps and then decide if its worth finishing. Anyone watch(ed) High School Of The Dead?
