And let me guess, they've probably screwed this up by not doing 1080p by pixel doubling, but by blurry interpolation. Right?
God, I can't even imagine working on older programs where you could not change font sizes on this thing.
Nearly bought the Dell UP2414Q, another 24" 4K display. The display has no build in scaler and reports as two displays to your graphics card, so no 1080p at all. I don't get it. The cool thing about 4K is the ability to use the high-res for apps where you need it and can fallback to FullHD for movies and maybe games when your graphics card isn't powerful enough. I hope NEC will do it better.
