    see here

In benchmarks probably the same also

I think he's point is to show you where the Billions of transistor are.. Thoses are Computing benchmarks... Is it important for gaming ? Not really... Well just put the use in computing for CIV5 and you see it can, even if offcourse, yet, computing is not really used in games.

Not really important, but this is just a shame to see the 680 beated in nearly all test by the 580...

Note for graphics purpose... all tests give pretty the similar result, clock to clock, the 680 and 7970 are completely neck to neck ( 1050mhz vs 1053-1110mhz turbo 680 ), the 7970 win some, the 680 win some ( the classic: Batman AC, BF3 if use AA ( 3-4fps depending the place used ).. most games it is equal.

Thats with low OC, but it seems for now, the 7970 scale a little bit better over 1100mhz with overclocking.

Now, i will really like if AMD can sort of the same adaptative v-sync.. really good feature specially for low end and midrange card.

Anyway, got my second card back from RMA ... 69% Asic, 1175mv.

My experience is: I switch from a GTX295, yea I know it's about damn time I update my card. And seriously, I've bought two of'em at $600 US like 3 weeks before the GTX680 lauch which is better and cheaper by $100 US, it pisted me off but, these card are amazing. They are crazy like, I didnt even had to overclock them again. I will oc for fun, but I have no need. My principals games are sc2 and bf3 sooo bf3 is the most demanding between these two and everything is way smoother then I expected at maxed out. I recommend these card but, I also recommend to wait after a little drop of price.

    Have a good day <3

Hey guys, I have 1 question: Can I flash the card with mod-bios?

I think you can since it has dual bios. Are you getting one now?

Going by the i7-3770K/i5-3570 review, like I said in that thread the i7-3770K has no advantage over the i5-3570, to the extent that I was a little suprised. What little difference there was could be explained by the fractionally higher clock of the i7-3770K. Definitely not worth the 50 percent extra cost!

Wow, I'm convinced to go red, neck and neck, more fun to tame my inner overclocker to the extremes... and could care two flips about power draw since it'll still be probably lower than my 480 lol.

Seems like the best route is 7950 @ 1200 if you're lucky + waterblock. Cheaper than a 680 and I'm betting money that it's neck and neck as well.

I just went to my local PC store to collect a few more bits for my 2nd PC (Ivy Bridge build) with the intention of getting 2 x GTX680s... Looked at the prices and thought screw that. Ended up coming home with another Asus 7970 DCU TOP card and an Asus reference as the 2nd card in CF (Z77 Board wont fit 2 x DCU). It would have cost me 350 more for 2 x reference 680s. Done some basic testing and both cards are happy at 1125mhz via CCC Overdrive. Both my PCs will be using triple screen setups so its probably better i stuck with AMD. The 7900 cards are brilliant.

Dang, Looks like a got a crappy card. I can only do 1100mhz at stock volts.

Make sure that you turned up the power level option in CCC or Afterburner to the +20%. If you hadn't, that might help you go over your current clocks. It should go at least the 1125 on stock volts.

Yeah all over that, I can get it to Furmark @ 1100mhz but nothing above at stock.

I cant get it to hold an overclock (driver crashes/lockups) with increased voltage either :(

Its water cooled and temps never go above 47deg loaded, so not a cooling issue.

I can only do 1070 stock volts, any higher, when testing the Crysis bench, i start getting orange polys around its 3rd run through, its odd, as thats the only thing that buggers, heaven, 3D 11 etc..., will all run through fine with the sliders fully maxed out in the CCC.

EDIT: Nah just tried Heaven again, fully maxed sliders, started getting dark grey flashing triangles, so 1070's my Core limit, not that im bothered, as its fast enough at stock :D

ok whats the max on a luck 7970 can do on water????

I am thinking on a new card soon since the dual 7990 is ways off now cause they cant bring a cooler with enough cooling power, shoo, Imohfo, all dual cards should be equipped with good waterblock and not a heatsink, dual gpus runs extremely hot, go to water drops like 40-50C and the noise level is tremendously much better then a stock heatsink fan at 75%+.

there is a lot of talk about the vrm overheating on the asus dc2...don't feel comfortable spending so much cash for a card that can die in awhile.

That chart linked above is 100% truth. I love how people talk up the 680, but don't realize what a beast the HD 7970 is when near or past 1.2ghz core.

It's a whole different world then.

Nvidia fans talk up the 680, and AMD fans talk up the 7970, can't really expect anything different.

Both cards are beasts when past 1.2ghz core, it just depends on if your lucky enough to get a card that can do that.
