    This...

I couldn't agree more....FAR CRY 3 Did alot of what was in TOMB RAIDER( reboot) and did it first and better....oh and the Batman Arkham games.

I felt TR really had nothing original going for it.

I played Every Tomb Raider, I played the first one on my Saturn and the others on PS1, the last Tomb Raider was a Tomb Raider game, the fact is games have progressed a lot and the old mechanics couldn't cut it, they had to make make the climbing mechanics better, much like games like Prince of Persia have advanced over the years, and there were puzzles in the newest game, even there weren't enough.
Plus the old games had combat which has been improved a lot over the old system, people love to compare new games to older ones remembering how good they were for their time but when you actually go back and play those games you see how flawed many of the gameplay mechanics are and how much they have improved.

I'm excited for the new Tomb Raider and loved the last one, if you want an old school Tomb Raider than play an older Tomb Raider game, to make the new one's worse just to stick to the core original mechanics is just a step backwards.

Just because they're rebooting it doesn't mean that they have to ignore the whole platform they've built and turn it into an interactive movie, where one button highlights everything you need to do.

The whole point in "Tomb Raider" is to solve puzzles in order to progress, besides, there's more fans of the old series than there is of this new one i'd like to bet.

Did you ever play Tomb Raider: Anniversary? That game wasn't flawed. Was a remake of the original and it adapted everything about it very well into the modern era.

The reason this got the reboot is because the old formula wasn't working. While the las TR had it's flaws it was easily one of the best games of 2013. Just because you thought it was bad doesn't mean it was bad. I'd bet it sold more copies than the last three Lara Croft titles combined.

The first 2 tomb raiders had great gameplay, after that it went downhill. The reboot of the franchise, which isn't exactly like the old ones, is pretty decent though imo so count me in for the 2015 variant.

I enjoyed last one but do agree it was lacking puzzles! Same with Uncharted, wish there were more proper puzzles!

I'm looking forward to Mantle support. It will be part of AMD's Gaming Evolved program for sure.

TressFx 2.0 is at least 1-2x faster, yeah hopefully they're gonna use it on other people too.

TressFX is capable of rending not only hair but fur and grass.
It's no match for Nvidia Physx/Hairworks which is far more complete though.

I wish Nvidia would get a hold on this game.

In what way its far more complete?

TressFx is strictly for hair/fur/grass, same as hairworks. Both compute, with no connection to regular physx api.

From my personal testing hair sdk demo ran worse then newer Tressfx2.0 sdk.

Guess we will have to wait and see for more, but so far im not impressed with hairworks on that dog ass in COD Ghosts lol :D

I enjoyed the reboot of TR a fair bit but what really annoyed me was the lack of tombs. Or rather, how short they all were. All of them were a couple of tiny rooms with some weak puzzle to work out.

I was never a huge fan of the games after the original to be honest, but I loved the remake from a few years back and that got me interested in the series again. I'll keep an eye on this game but I have a feeling it'll end up being Steam sale material for me.
