Its like Half-Life linear. If it has a good story this doesn't matter.

It's developed by a eastern-European studio (Don't remember their name at the moment.) and amongst them are several ex-GSC employees (Stalker games primarily.) such as several of people who worked on the X-Ray engine for Shadow of Chernobyl and it's deferred shading renderer so it's a bit similar to that albeit I guess it's very updated from that early version and far more optimized, anyway it's not based on the "Quake" (ID Tech or what they call it.) engine but their own creation.
(Seems to be pretty advanced and scales well, hopefully there won't be many technical issues and bugs either.)

Looks promising for sure, as long as it is not another bad port :x

Don't worry, the PC is lead platform while 360 is getting a port.

That's just building it up to be disappointed.

While the PC may be the lead platform, they still have to keep the 360 version in mind.

Nice STALKER like graphics from the new 4A engine (X-ray, foray...lol). Hopefully the storyline surpasses STALKER's.

I wouldnt worry about it...It is Ukrainian developers and they (or Russians) put PC way ahead of any consoles. It is the way it is,consoles arent that popular in former USSR countries. So im optimistic.

And its awesome that it is in moscow, ive been there few times. Planning to go this summer as well,so it will be awesome :D

The game engine looks more advance. Better lifelike animations, effects and the whole technology around the game but its a linear close quarter like shooter as I understand, so they can do more graphic wise and not worry about performance. Also Stalker has a lot of AI to do in its open world and is using a lot off PC power to do that. Linear games has more scripted like AI.

I will not compare the two game as they look so different. If Metro2033 was first and then Stalker was coming with its open world everyone would say how awesome Stalker will be.

Based on the various interviews and previews it's confirmed to use GPU accelerated PhysX effects which mainly seems to be for particles, DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 are also both mentioned as supported.

DX10 and 11?? Nice, could be the first game to use DX9/10/11.

If this appears in time for Fermi, and is DX11 and PhysX enabled, it could be some good marketing for Nvidia, and the PC.

Just hope the game plays as well as it looks:3eyes:
