Triple buffering will help it from dropping from 60-30fps if it dips, so more likely it would be 45fps.

Somehow i doubt you can't see and feel the difference between 30 and 45fps.

Vsync is a must for me also (I don't like screen tearing). I also force triple buffering with d3doverrider to prevent the framerate from dropping in half below 60.

Also like the man says it gives you full frame rate if you turn vsync off.....but if you have a 60 hz monitor your still only seeing 60 FPS,remember that when people keep asking for 300 fps to play cod.

Just to ruin your life ill tell you were to look for it ;).Whilst standing still look at building edges, trees or lamposts in any given game.Use you mouse to look left to right slowly at first and build the speed up,as you go faster you will begin to notice that vertical edges appear to "break" and get an effect like this:- http://hifi-india.blogspot.com/2006/11/faq-what-is-screen-tearing-and-how-do-i.html

Look at the electrical conduits and the other vertical services, they appear to be "broken".......what your actually seeing is the last and next frame on your screen split across the middle. You also notice that the screen just doesnt feel smooth.Screen tearing tends to be most noticeable in the upper half of the screen.

Why are people arguing over what other people can, or can't see.

Let people do their own thing.

I tried hard to create the issue in Call of Duty Black Ops but could not create it. I wish you guys who have the tearing would tell what monitor you use to see the issue so I can tell people to avoid those monitors.

^ If a monitor cannot display tearing it's because it's too slow to do so.

On certain games I do, but as a general rule I don't.
Sometimes fast paced driving sims or shooters need vsync turned on.

A Simple Method, irrespective whether you see screen tearing or not.. start like this.

    1. Start using with Vsync and Triple Buffering (via tools, like D3D Override..if you don't have any tools or cannot use them..push Render Ahead to 1 Frame)

    2. If above is slow, stop using Vsync and Triple Buffering.

    no.
mouse lag and change of mouse acceleration is intolerable to me
vsync also creates other kind of lag effect on screen: u can see everything on screen "jumping"(similar to southpark animation) if u move, this ofc is something eye can get used to, same as tearing

WTF are you on about, not 1 word about topic just verbal diarrhoea ?

My English is far better than yours as you do not even know it should have a capital letter. :wanker:

Clutching at straws because you look stupid in more then this thread (hint NVInspector) ?

P.S An eye doctor is called an "optician", and if you shot your mouth of outside the way you do safely hiding behind your keyboard you would need a real doctor as someone would break your jaw ! :biggun:

always used vsync+triple buffering: never seen lag, and plus tb avoids limitation in frame rate under refresh value.
So vsync+tb is the best for me
