It is so great friends, I have got a huge list of opensources here, It is very helpful and this is very informative post too,

Sometimes back, I was searching for free templates or OPEN sources for web templates, But I did not get quality ones from the opensources, on that time one of my friend had introduced systemplates.com to get templates, Here I just want to share that info which will be helpful for other people here who look for templates, also, They offer some discount for registration too,

    Cheers,
    BarakObama,

if you're tired of Nero and its various problems and want a simple, effective and very reliable piece of software, i highly recommend Burnaware.

i've been using it for nearly a year and i've never been more happy, did i mention it's FREE?

Tbh, I don't like the idea of having no support for those features in the free version:

    - Makes Bootable ISO image files
    - Makes exact copies of CDs & DVDs
    - Writes to multiple drives simultaneously
    - Permitted for commercial use

Especially making bootable iso image files is something I would miss - especially since there are other alternatives out there which support this.

Regardless, it's good to know that this option exists. I really like it's GUI. Looks pretty foolproof and straight forward, imo.

indeed, but for the normal joe user who just want to burn dvds and cds i think they won't really miss some of the missing options, plus as you said the software is quite foolproof and dependable which is what most people are after, they want a simple software to burn discs and does it properly and that's the main priority. ;)

if the user requires more options (eg. create bootable iso or whatever) there are plenty of offers out there, some are free and some for money.

the main aim here is to burn discs and i think Burnaware does it very well. :)

not necessarily a bad thing :D

nice software (quite reliable too) i've used it before, but i much prefer Burnaware cleaner and straightforward layout.

here's the layout of both programs, it's just a matter of preference really as both softwares are really good although Infrarecorder can do a bit more than Burnaware. :)

Burnaware (one window does it all)

    Infrarecorder (similar to nero layout)

anyway, thanks guys for posting all the good freewares out there, this thread was actually very useful. :)

When you start the program, it calls home to see if there are any updates available . If you block the connection, the program closes.

Sounds cool. Gonna try it tonight.

    edit:
It can never connect to server trying to download a list. It opens, but as soon as it tries to update the list, it shows a connection error and closes immediately.

Yes, it always calls home on start up. If your firewall blocks the communications, the program closes.

Make sure to run the program as an administrator.

The URL it connects to is

    http://gboost.gzero.com/BoostingService/BoostingService.asmx

The IP is 94.236.47.145 and you need to be able to ping the address.
