Those people are stupid. It's a pretty damn good game.
Looks good, runs perfect and plays well. The only bad thing are those bad textures.
But if you look beyond that the game looks beautiful.

I stopped playing Rage because i thought it would be more open-world, but its not. Texture-streaming was something i could've lived with, but i also had blue textures appearing and wasnt able to continue the game.

Then Borderlands2 happened and i havent touched Rage again ever since.

i agree with u on that, i liked the game's atmosphere and graphics, but i got bored after a while, but that doesn't mean the game is bad, it would have been better if the world was more open yes.

Cracking game, I loved that game, shame about the hideous stuttering on the PC, messed up SLI support and weird texture problems.

Great atmosphere and gunplay, but i found that the game was just open areas with nothing to do, so if they had made it more open world they would of had to add waaay more content to the game.

As it stands currently, the game plays out in a barren wasteland, with barren being a good description of how much content this game features.

Nice to look at though and more so when downsampling is applied.

I think that's a mistake far too many people made.
So many assumed RAGE was an open world game because id showed off the "wasteland" and it was being published by Bethesda.

But when asked id stated it wasn't an open world game. It was a linear shooter with a few "hub" like areas in it connecting the missions.

It's been a while. All i can remember is that I found the game rather boring and quit ~half way through. Hopefully ID will have a competent story to tell in their next non doom game.
They are supposed to be making a new doom now arent they?

Rage is such an underrated game. The atmosphere was great and a "far cry" from lots of other generic shooters (see what I did there?).

The part when you first fight that big monster chucking grenades at you in the abandoned hospital was is one of my favourite gaming moments of the last decade.

I got rage for 5 USD since i thought i wasn't going to like it much.
I have to admit though i liked it a lot. Yeah the missions couldn't have been any more linear but i still had fun.
And c'mon, the enemies weren't cannon fodder. Half of them were able to dodge right out of shotgun barrel.
Enemy movement didn't seem all that scripted, the way they moved.
Not saying it couldn't have been better, still had fun.
