    LARGE.

I am currently using these slots for my Soundcard and GPU

A little tight, but no problems. I am wondering is this the BEST option? and is it the only option?

I see a nice white PCI-E slot there which I would love to put my GPU in, but I am unsure if it will hit the performance in some hidden way.

    Thanks very much.

EDIT: Never mind the manual says use the Blue slot for the GPU to get better performance.

What about my Soundcard though, is there anywhere I could put it (apart from up my ass or in the bin) which would have no negative consequences and open up space a bit?

    Cheers.

-Video card needs to be in the first x16 slot. Either put the sound card in the top x1 slot or down at the bottom in the black x4 slot if you have room.

Thanks for the hasty advice mate, but THAT'S A HUGE BLACK ONE, my soundcard has only a short length, it will be like waving a party sausage around in the Mersey tunnel.

its pcie. you can fit pcie 1x cards in full 16x slots. and if your board's pcie 1x slot doesnt have the blocking plastic at the end, you can fit a full length graphics card into a 1x slot as well and it will run. but obviously, the graphics card will only run at 1x in a 1x slot.

the bottom 4x slot uses the lanes from your z77 pch iirc, so it wont reduce the speed of your full length pcie16x slots.

Yes it'll be fine, that slot just has more lanes (4) so anything smaller like your sound card will fit and just use the required lanes:nerd:
