ENERMAX releases D.F. STORM fan, the new flagship 120mm fan which can operate at 3500RPM. The D.F. Storm can generate strong airflow up to 155.08(CFM) and static pressure as high as 11.131(mm-H2O).... Enermax D.F. STORM, the 3500RPM Fan Featuring Self-cleaning Design
interesting to see so many new products from enermax this year! i have to ask: is that static pressure figure for real?? like, from the pics that thing appears to be a 25mm depth fan... for reference, this things pressure rating is trading blows with a 38mm depth EFB series delta fan at comparable rpms, & absolutely buries my silverstone FHP141 @2k rpms - just under 4mm-h20. thats insane. this things either really nice, loud as hell...or both
ultra-silent STORM. It's like ninja-assassin that carries RPG and .50CAL sniper rifle. I call plausible. Help yourself
Anyone know any info on this self-cleaning tech? They just kinda brushed over the part where they're like "oh yeah, this fan also cleans itself". Wait. hold on. what? I want to hear more about THAT. Less about their "patented" 3-speed selector which is basically just a 1-button version of the same 3-speed selection they have had on fans for decades. That's like, 2 lines of embedded code on a 10c chip. Unfortunately, I can't look up DFRTM without it coming up with "dream meanings" or "how to pronounce DFRTM".
It is all in the name. It may have strong winds but when was the last time one experienced a silent storm?
DFR = Dust Free Rotation Tech http://www.enermax.com/home.php?fn=eng/press_b_1&no=88 basically like been used in few gpu fans ... for several seconds it reverse spin the fan to blow the dust inward, which kinda bad things for casing fan for GPU the function is okay so dust trapped in heatsink fins can be blowed up but not for casing fan i would say what in article is like 70% marketing "things" ... 30% actual product feature
Reversing the spin of the fan is pretty good at getting light dust out. Hadn't cleaned my CPU heatsink in a while and rather than just picking it out i span the fan the other way with my hand, all just sort of fell out
