yep, all reasons why people pirate stuff, yet the more DRM they come up with the more people do it, special with stupid **** like need to be online just to play single player.. I mean seriously some people have gameing pc's that dont even have Internet connection. less they playing mmorpgs or FPS mutiplayer games. Even then need a Internet connection to play single player is asinine, I can understand it for consoles, but even then they dont need it for Trophies or Achievement
this is not good for me, my internet connection lately loss quit often for around 20 sec. how can i play when constant disocnnection, cant save any progress. im gonna wait for review, and depends on my connection if the problem still persist, i have to choose the 'other' option.
It's better than StarForce which they used before, but still I like Steam approach more. On the other hand, it's nothing new, really. Dragon Age Origins DLC users already have their save games requiring online activation. Do they really want to get rid of PC gamers? My rig is online most of the time, but network may be down from time. It's also a total fail for laptop users. Another issue - let's say they release a sequel and disable servers for the old version... It does not sound cool. I've already been using cracks for games that I've bought to get rid of changing discs, but this is ridiculous.
Steam had it right. 1. You encrypt the files. 2. Preload them. 3. Send activiation for encrypted files and bind your account to your game. 4. Game is yours forever. 5. Make crazy deals offering 66% off every so often. 6. Profit. Steam is full of win. That and the service is good too for ping. Ubisoft's system is full of fail. 1. limited activations (the average pc, EVEN Win 7) lasts 6 months before a good, through nuking is needed. That or if you change substantial hardware, Windows says REINSTALL ME. 2. Internet shut off of game? 3. Hazardous DRM installed to your system? Yeah...I'll either stick with Steam or the torrents. Steam hits my pocketbock, but I feel contant that Valve is a good company and that I can play online. Sadly, the torrents are more reliable than Ubisoft. lol
That is a massive fail for Ubisoft. I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my preorder, I cannot support a company that gives its customers a finger.
Everyone blames the pirates for the downfall of PC gaming, but when the best solution a developer can come up with is "HER DUR, **** YOU FOR BUYING OUR GAME", I'm thinking there is a much bigger problem.
Exactly. It's not cumbersome, hangs in the background, lets you buy great deals and preorders, downloadable whenever you want, not constant online needed. That, and Valve is one company that I trust won't screw me over if they had the chance.
This is freaking stupid!!! The developers are slowly killing of the PC community because they are too lazy to code and port games to PC, so they come up with some stupid **** like this... I dont see why consoles dont face this problem... for all i know consoles have the biggest piracy issue! It doesnt take much for one person to copy, give, or rip a console game, they dont have to put up with anything, not even a CD key. I blame the consoles!!!
No wonder piracy in on a rampage on PC, with ****ty tricks like this! Good thing that Ubisoft donĀ“t have any good games. For those who have games from them, time to download the crack...
