Yeah I've noticed also that some features are missing from vision control. Amd at it again.

At least I know I'm not actually going crazy or seeing things.

Well...this feature is quite important for legacy and necessary and good. To force profiles for games in drivers now behind the "times" and crippled for crossfire.

So a single COH2 fix, traded in exchange for a busted CCC where no profiles actually exist at all.

When was the last time a driver was released that isn't busy fixing what was broken in the last driver coming from a driver that worked before it ?

Fix one thing, break another. Typical...I'll pass. :bang:

Catalyst 11.x or late 10.x series for 4K is still the best to get the most out of your cards ppl with less bugs.

At least it works "ok" with 1 gpu. I'm sorry to hear crossfire users are still being ignored.

This is also true for AGP cards on XP (e.gHD4650agp)?
and if yes what version is actually the best and where can I find it?

    Appreciate the help.

Also as well as a broken CCC, in case anyone else hasn't noticed...

Version of this 13.4 beta driver is 8.970.100.0000
Version of 13.1 driver is 8.970.100.7000

    Strange...

Are the file size differences simply down to the fact that it's an older driver I wonder ?!?

The video controls section is also missing in this new CCC I found.

I managed to fix the missing crossfire profile list by putting back the old atidemgx.dll from 13.1 driver under Win7 x64, but the video controls section controls remains missing still...

Don't know what else was done on Windows 8 about solving the .NET4 crash, but it just seems a buggy CCC overall, and a backwards step.

I confirm both Video Settings, LCD overdrive, and drop down application profiles missing on 13.4b.

Maybe AMD is fixing/improving those features! Who knows? This 13.4 driver is a beta version.

Install everything but vision control from this package. After restart install vision control form 13.1. It works OK so far...

Or maybe not and it's just literally busted to yet hammer another nail in the "legacy" coffin....A flaky CCC to match the flaky clocks. Now 3 drivers since support ended and each time they managed to get worse lol.

I'm not really that concerned with new drivers anymore or living on these broken token offering crumbs to be honest. I'm still on much older drivers that simply don't have these silly bugs anymore or shortcomings, and are more stable overall.

Just thought I would point out the "awol items" to save everybodys sanity before using them.

There is nothing much to be gained in newer drivers for old cards anyway, quite clearly. And most game problems can be solved by renaming the .exe to remap to a profile that does work, or alternatively renaming to ForceSingleGPU.exe to kill crossfire without needing "newer" drivers to work.

IOW newer drivers are not really a "must" if you stick with what "works" and/or you know the workarounds. :)

This is def pushing me further and further away from the RED team. This has to be the biggest issue I have seen with AMD/ATI. The driver situation never got better through the 4 years of owning this card. It more or less took 2 steps back and one step forward. Yes I have an old card and thanks to Kevsamiga, I have stable drivers that allow me to watch a damn video on the internet. Ridiculous. Thanks for the warnings kev.

I'm kind of confused. I have an HD4890, I'm still on 12.6 I got from here. Is it worth updating to this at all? will I get tons of crashes?

If you are happy with your current driver, then no.

Indeed, I'm also running 12.6 WHQL and had no need to upgrade.

    Hello,

    I have a new rig with Windows 7 and a HD 4770.
Is it normal that I can't find the settings for hardware deinterlacing in the "Video section"?

Nope it's not normal. But it's normal for you to experience such problems when using this driver as it's a bit bugged when compared with the previous 13.1 Driver.

    Other Thoughts
I recommend using the 13.1 Driver or the 12.11 Modded Driver Uploaded in the forums or preferably just follow the link Below.
ATI Catalyst 12.11 Modded Legacy Driver
AMD Catalyst 13.1 Legacy Driver x64Bit
AMD Catalyst 13.1 Legacy Driver x32Bit

    Hello,Dellon

I eventually installed the 12.4 WHQL,and everything is back except for this:

I didn't instal the 13.1 because the person who built my PC said he encountered
    pbs with Aero after that.
    What do you think?
