Not just the hex for GeForce cards, there where fixes for some ATI cards that made the game crash while having a Dual Core CPU, the game would just lock up and crash. What I meant about the Aspect Ratio, I meant a REAL fix implemented on the EXEs, not a memory hack. Maybe someone can do that one day... Hell, I want the damn HD Collection on PC.
Even though i played andd finished all of the games years ago, I wish i could wipe my memory and play those games all again from scratch. I wish i was in your position, definitely one of gamings finest hours. You should really enjoy playing those, i know i would all over again.
MGS4 was a forced game, literally... I do agree, it was the worst, but, saying that it was the worst, it still the best, I mean, it's MGS man... none are bad.
Adding screenys now... All done. I have more, but got blocked by the 18 max limit of pictures per post.
by far the best MGS that i played, i managed to make it look decent with PCSX2 at 1440p, but heavy on resources, thank you for sharing all these fixs and mod, will definitely try it
@Essenthy, iceagex, machine4578 & Abottwhite27: No problem Start from scratch Install Patch 2.0 Overwrite exes with geforce fix. setup gfx to max with Model Detail set to 1 set custom res Launch the game to see if itll work as is. What else did you do along the way. Did you edit the ini's properly?
It's been a while since I'm not on a GForce card, but, this "[*]setup gfx to max with Model Detail set to 1" shouldn't need to be done. At least, not, with the fix in place. There shouldn't be "gray" textures. Then again, last time I tested the fix I was on a 8600GT....
Yeah thats what ive been reading, but after trying all the fixed exes i could find and even trying the hex edit myself, putting the Model Detail above 1 causes the Hardware error. Vanilla exes also do that same.
That sucks... I might take a look on that. Can you please, tell me the name of your card on the Device Manager? ---------- Edit: Try this exe. https://www.firedrive.com/file/C07CDECA2E4CFDBD
Thanks! will try it now. And - Asus Geforce GTX 580 (1.5gb). Edit: No luck - With Enb convertor + SweetFX & Dsound.dll: Black screen then Hardware Structure and Abnormal Shutdown errors. Without: Blackscreen needs to be Ctrl+alt+Del'd
No need With dsound.dll it works! Thank mate. Just tried it. All details at max. Seems enb or sweetfx is causing the error.
Well, that's great! You sure you have the settings on max, right? Models, I mean. And yes, this game ALSO farts if your sound card does not have EAX (In this case, Windows). Edit: Oh, bummer about SweetFx Can't do anything with that, no so much skill...
Yep, custom resolutions work also. Ill play around with SweetFX and enb and see if i can get it to work. May just be as simple as removing it, launching MGS2 with your exe and then placing sweetfx/enb back in. Ill have a go. Much appreciated man. Is it ok to update the OP with your new exe?
I just reinstalled the game, will give it a go too. Of course you can. Edit: I just tried with ENB ONLY and the game shows a white screen for a second and then it closes, so, I guess the problem is ENB...
Thanks. As for enb/sweetfx ive gotten to the menu and loaded a game, but it only shows the map an UI elements, subtitles, breath and the projector screen in the tank mission where all the troop are being addressed. Rest of the screen is too dark. Same Sweetfx version but use GTA san Andres d3d9.dll from Boris. Ver. 0.185. http://enbdev.com/download_mod_gtasa.htm
I got the game working with this convertor http://enbdev.com/convertor_dx8_dx9_v0018.htm BUT, when I game, all I see is corruption.... I guess the convertor is pretty "immature"...
Yeah your right its seems, as even just launching with the convertor it has issues. Edit: It maybe the exe. Setting everything to low and using Dx8 - DX9 ver 0.14 beta and gta VC v0.0075c3, everything displays as it should (minus the low gfx).
Here is the thing. I'm using the original 2.0 exes, as I have the AMD card... so, I guess it's not it (the new exe)... Without ENB the game just works normally.
