Unfortunately I can't post them because is a retail store not for end users. It's a store that only sell computer parts for resellers. I see on the price list: ASUS MAXIMUS VI GENE 4DDR3 2PCIE16 SATA6 HDMI 1150 $194.67 USD ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO 4DDR3 3PCIE16 SATA6 HDMI 1150 $203.96 USD ASUS MAXIMUS VI IMPACT 1PCIe16 SATA6 HDMI/DP 1150 $225.16 USD ASUS SABERTOOTH Z87 4DDR3 2PCIe16 SATA6 DP/HDMI $242.55 USD they don't have MSI nor Gigabyte at the moment just ECS, ASROCK, Intel and Asus.
Hmm you couldn't find anything cheaper than that? They're all premium boards (with fancy names, lol). People seem to be liking the Gene though, I'd pick that one outta em all.
I am going to take a different direction, buy a 8350 oc it real good sell those cards and get a single strong card. any amd cpu is going to be weak in multi gpu. if you cant afford a 4770k grab a 4670k should be much cheaper but it has no hyperthreading
Woops, didn't know that. Didn't do my homework. XD Yeah TKs alternative is another option. Although then he could already be getting the 8320 and saving the money for a better single gpu. Maybe then that would be the best option tbh. But only if he OCs it 4.5ghz+. For the money you save you could get a 290 or 780 or something.
Oh yes they are cheaper but I want something that goes well with my case (Half-X). Because of the colors and cable management. I want good performance but also good looks . The other cheaper Asus mobos are not pretty and they have blue or other colors that simply do not go with my rig. My rig is almost all black but the big frontal fan has red light and my mouse is a Razer Naga Molten also red. I don't know if I'm being too picky hehe
Hehe no that's ok dude, that's your pc so. Anything is possible. Guess the next pick would then be VI HERO? Otherwise.. yeah, getting 8320 + a strong single gpu is a thought to consider. But then again.. maybe a 4770k will just be a better investment right now, dunno.
What are the pros and cons between: New CPU (Either i5 4670k or i7 4770k) + New Mobo with same GTX 660 in SLI Or New CPU (Either 8320 or 8350) + New Video card (770 or 780) same mobo
Option 1 You will have better minimum fps in any game. I saw 4770k is quite cheap now, below 290$ and you dont have to worry about 8threaded games in the near future. edit: and you can sell your old cpu+mobo and get some extra money for maybe another bigger ssd?
I like the idea of option #2 but with just $500 is not doable. Just the 780 is $500 and I will not have for the new CPU. I'm talking to a friend that wants to sell me his 4770K (used) in about $180 USD. That way I can get the Maximum Hero for $200 USD and I'll get money back if I sell my 8150 and Mobo.
The Hero is really good... but of course I'm going to say that Yeah, I think the best option is the used 4770k, new Asus Hero with 660 SLI (for now) and sell off your current MB and CPU. 660 SLI should hold out for bit, or at least hold you over till you can replace them with a single high end card.
I'm pretty sure it is once you sell those 660's. You can get an 8320 for about $130-150? The sale of those should cover your CPU without a problem. You can get a 780 for $450-500 depending on where you shop. That said I'd be tempted to jump on Haswell myself to be honest, you never know when you might want to add another card down the line. With another AMD chip you'd be back at square one.
^ This... I'd make the platform switch now while you have the chance to get a 4770K for $180 usd plus you'll be set for a few years if you decide (or have the need) to go multi gpu again.
Thanks you guys I really appreciate all your opinions. I will go with the used 4770K and the Asus Hero. Afterward I'll sell my MoBo and 8150 and if I can my 2 660s then I will have enough to purchase a new 780!
It will be a bit of shuffling around but worth it in the end. Then in a few months you'll be ready to drop in another 780
Ok, the person that is selling me the Haswell 4770k fot $180 is because he attempted to do the "delid" and end up scratching the PCB but the processor works 100% and it's only one month old. That's the only reason he is giving it out at half price. He actually said to me to give him $150. He offered me to test the processor with Prime55 if necessary. What do you guys think? Should I risk my investment?
