People are forgetting the price of a 690 is almost the price of 2x680s so if you really feel hardone by then go by another 680 and you will be on par with the price that you will pay for a 690.

Ive thought about this,i think im just gonna buy one after the guru3d review comes out, when is HH gonna review this anyhow?Hopefully before there in the shops as i want to get one before they go out of stock.

Ocuk are saying stock will exist from May the 3rd,(ill be buying from elsewhere, not ocuk)please get your review out before this HH:)

I'd still go with 2x680 instead.... At least that way if by some freak occurance 1 GPU craps out....you're not stuck with a half dead card. Plus you could still use 1 card while RMA'ing the other. Guess there's benefits and drawbacks to each config....

BTW, 560Ti is going back in until I get the time and interest to trouble-shoot some minor issues. Damn GPU can't maintain 100% GPU load while folding. Keeps dropping to 10% every few seconds. Also, got my 2600K down to 65C by turning this POS heatsink sideways....lol.

I would go with 2 single cards no doubt. if you needed money in an emergency you could sell 1 off or rma 1 like you said. that $1000 690 goes you better have a back up. that problem just in folding? 65c is fine for a SB enjoy

So, what are the predictions for GTX690 stock? Same, worse or better than GTX680? Be pretty screwed up if it ends up with better stock....

Flickering when switching to idle clocks as well. I think it's related to the openCL implementation in the 12.4 drivers, but I don't feel like spending the rest of the night testing to find out. The 560Ti is back in. At least it can clock to 1ghz for gaming. The 7870 runs F@H at 46C....but reaches 68C while gaming. I'll worry about troubleshooting after I manage to makeup at least some of the points I've lost in F@H.

Around £800 in the uk which works out at $1300 at todays rate of currency....that will actually be a good price considering the 680's are about £430 in the UK even though its downclocked.
Everything is more expensive here mate.

Ill be grabbing one atleast as long as it gets good reviews and maybe another at a later date.

At $1300 in the US....it'd be more than 2x the price of the GTX680, reducing the number of possible buyers even more. GTX680 is going for $500-580USD from what I've seen..... Not quite as easy as setting a price in 1 country and simply converting to different currencies from there. They need to be priced for the economy of each country.

Yeah i understand what your saying regarding the USA but in the UK atm with current prices i see the 690 as a very tempting card for myself and i loved my 295's,i had no problems with the single PCB 295's,unlike the dual 295's that i owned, anyhow im just hoping that these 690's deliver,im very excited atm.

But the region distance also play a big factor considering most of the manufacturers are located in Asia. Plus, the currency rate also plays a big role. Here in the Philippines, GTX 580 were priced more than 30k when it was released. This was back when the Philippine Peso was P48 > US$1. Now that the rate has gone down to US$1 > P43, the GTX 680 is priced at around 25k. Palit reference is even being sold at 23k. I even had my Palit Jetstream at just 23k, which was a real treat considering my card was the first Jetstream bought from the store in the country. :)

    question IYOHP:

Once the 690 is released, when do you think when the first time the 690 prices are going to be slahsed a bit? after the first month right?

should give me plenty of time to sell my leftovers now, I also have to wait too when I get this card cause of waterblock, wont be out on day one, have to wait a bit.

I wouldn't expect to see prices "slashed" at all. These cards are targetting enthusiasts, not mainstream buyers....and will probably have a limited production run.

I dunno guys, but if you really want a 690 and you are going to spend 1k on a card, then you more than likely should have the money to burn. May as well get 2 680's and get better performance.

Unless someone is crazy enough to spend over 2 grand on 2 690's....

    WHERE IS BODAR!?

I plan on running 2 of these 690's,i said this long ago if there any good that is.

I want more than 2x680's without the price tag of 4 physical cards, using up more space, generating more heat etc.

2x690's will blow 2x680's clean out of the water without the massive price tag and physical space of 4x680's in sli.

Its also more expensive over here than $2k for 2x690's,i wish the price was the same as it was in the USA as id snap 2 of em up right away,i may still snap 2 up yet anyhow, depends on how i feel on the day and how the reviews are.

Also before you say it i dont get problems with stuttering, well i havent so far because if i did i wouldnt be buying a 690(s).:)

I'm not buthurt. This is good for people who have PCIe x16 slots that are two slot instead of three slot like new motherboards. I will eventually buy a second GTX680 when I upgrade my motherboard.

The thing is Steve30x by spending your money on another 680,the total price of your 2 gpus will be around the same price as the 690 anyhow so it dont really matter.

People that are butthurt from buy a 680 i say this....the 690 is double the price of a single 680,people seem to forget this, they seem to assume that the 690 is double the power of a single 680 all for the same price of a 680.

Like ive said before,You get what you pay for:)

in this case you dont get hat you pay for. You get less power for the same price as two GTX680's , but the good thing is you get double the Vram.

Actually 2x680s cost more here in the UK than a 690 will rumoured to be so you do get what you pay for.

You are getting that from a rumoured price. Not an actual price.

no you do not get double the vram. 690 consists of 2 680`s with 2 gb of ram each. same a 2 physical 680`s. the ram is mirrored.
