i only ride a bicycle for around 100+ km (with uphills), takes around 5-6 hours including breaks, if time permits would love to go 150-200km soon, would prolly take a whole day. (Laguna lake loop as seen in the map)
I used to love long drives, I was never the one driving and still haven't gotten around to getting my license yet, but the older I get, the more nervous I am as a passenger I can't be driven very far now without wanting to get out, or take over the wheel, constantly watching the road ahead in case the driver has missed something coming towards us Hate being the passenger now, but even just 10 years back I was quite happy bombing around with my crazy driver mates behind the wheel taking stupid risks
Furthest I've driven so far was from Toronto to Waterloo which is like nothing ... beats sitting as a passenger lol. deltatux
I can't stand being a passenger. I always find myself trying to slam on my imaginary brake pedal....lol.
I love going on long drives, a few times a year I get to drive 360ish miles (579km) to visit family, I love my family but I really look forward to the drive a bit more than seeing them.
I just drove +85 miles last weekend to race. Was scary because I hadn't finished working on the car, but it survived. Woot. It hurt my wallet, so I don't want to drive that car far again because it takes premium gas.
Why does it need premium? Are you seriously getting knock/ping on regular in that? I find it hard to believe.
/shrug AWD is bad on gas in general, excluding some recent Subaru models. I used regular gas the day I bought it, and it ate it up on the 50 mile ride home. I will be working on the fuel system (fuel filter, injectors) soon as I'm sure I'm not getting rated MPG on a 21yr old car.
Same here. i am looking forward to DRIVE more than Having a holiday lol. Driving long distances is like Resetting my body&mind stress. i think i will choose the number 1. safe journeys to me. i hope.
Couldnt agree more, I find it relaxing everytime (except when I have to get gas of course) even when there is a lot of traffic. I close my mind to everything and just drive.
I remember the last long drive i did. I was on my way to pick my new car, cant remember how far it was now, but i dodge a couple of trucks an other on coming vehicles, lamp posts and fell asleep a few times. In the end it worked out quite well, got a new car and found out that even with my lack self control at the wheel when it comes to controlling my speed, i can always count on my reflexes for back up.. I miss TDU.
and do u guys get some kind of interesting AUTO PILOT mode? what is the science behind this? u talk on phone or daydream think something but u drive so good. even reach ur destination in city. really amazing situation.
I've driven from England to Slovakia a few times, which is something like 1500k. It is just so tedious. Especially driving through Germany, it is never ending and boring.
b road? and 1500 km is so much. i have done 1200 but non stop i mean without sleeping somewhere 1500 is much. i stop and eat relax wc etc 2-3 times mostly thats all.
have been driving in europe twise at the summertime. both times about 7000km in a month. Once i drove 12h straight and got only 600km forward =) 1.Finland-croatia-italy-germany-poland-estonia-finland 2.Finland-slovakia-german-north france-nederland and back from denmark and sweden. heres 1 route https://maps.google.fi/maps?saddr=R...MiQMd-zoTAQ&t=h&mra=mi&mrsp=17&sz=7&via=8&z=5 (not all countries in list just a route)
