it was good program back then, but the lack of vision cut them off guard. Foobar 2000, j river, ASIO, wasapi etc... player changed a lot and winamp stayed the same.

I still use winamp after all these years , tried others but always came running back. I wont use another program either unless it stops working or shows bugs.

I used to use WinAmp all the time, back in the ol days. Used it to stream music as well as I had some plugins I used with my keyboard and sorts. Sad to see them go. Winamp, it really whips the llama's ass!

    I always hated it.
ALWAYS, it was unstable and resource hungry.
I sticked with Media Player 6.3 back in the day.
    Nows a day I use Foobar2k
    Not a loss to me.
But, a pity for those who use it.

media player 6.3 was released in 2000. wouldn't call that back in the day. many of us used Winamp way before that, I used it from day one, in 1997.

    A mighty Pentium 3 600mhz :D

But, I knew it before hand. Used it in a couple of cybercafes around 1997/8
    Never liked it.

Well I loved a skin called new clear and since they cut the support to that quit using winamp, and because it was bloated, then I tried foobar2k wich is great, but backing up the fonts, plugins and what not, every time I formatted the disk, took me to quit using fancy mp3 players, and now it's the 1st thing that plays mp3 that I use.

    Hats off to WinAmp fans.

I also used WinAmp a lot to listen to online radio and listening to music. But I just switched to VLC and never looked back. (was 4 - 5 years ago...)

man, what a shame, while feeling bloated (winamp, that is), i really enjoyed some of the visuals for play music with.

I am sorry for the dev team.

I'm looking for a worthy replacement. I'm looking for milkdrop (or anything like it) support and shoutcast/icecast support.

    EDIT:
Trying AIMP right now. Quite liking it. :)
