Is that not because the frames on the outside monitors are reduced on the 680 or something.

Mein fuhrer... the 680 has been released. It is faster, cheaper and uses less power than the 7970.

Yeah, I have mine clocked at 1125/6300mhz at stock voltage using the reference cooler. It runs bf3 on ultra beautifully granted I'm playing at 1920x1080. So all in all, I'm happy with my purchase but I was surprised how much more efficient the kepler is with gaming applications. It's architecture is quite similar to the fermi the only difference is it's performance per watt ratio is awesome. I can't imagine what the next kepler will be like.

My bad, its in 3D Vision Surround where the frames are reduced (not normal).

    Yup, so going from a 7970 to a 680 is a bit daft isn't it :p

750w would be pushing it. You'll be better off playing it safe and getting an 850w.

^ That's a lot of added up power with four storage drives as well a big overclock on the cpu.

I run 2 580s OC'd and OC'd CPU on a 850W PSU...and 680 uses less power.. food for thought.. although the old saying is never skimp on the PSU so if you have the cash get a big one.

Currently have an AMD 6950, looking up that AMD no longer wishes to implement or support new tech via their Drivers...

I am completely ditching up AMD 79xx, and might probably get a GTX 680.

    Pros for GTX680:-
    .PhyX
.(true) SSAA via 3rd Part tool, even for DX10/11
.Support for AA, even if the game doesn't support them (on AMD Forcing AA will not work most of the time, especially when you need SSAA)
.Proper AF (The imperfect AF implementation actually appears to look better than the absolutely perfect AF implementations on AMD <- strangely)
    .3D vision
    .Better Minimum Frame Rates

(Yah, last AMD card I'll ever have...horrible drivers support)

Id say so, close to twice as fast as a 6970.
