I made it up to /ATI/ACE but no profile that I just made. Just like Rich2526 it just says Profiles.xml. I've been trying for 2 hours, please help how to find the darn file. Thanks.

edit: Found it and set to 65%, idling at 46 degrees C as we speak. Thank you very much.

thanks man. I also managed a 19,2XX 3dmark score with the 4850's tuned at 685/1110. I know these things can do more....

btw, the stock h/s are in the trashbin already. lol. they make the card (any card) too heavy. :)

Fasteddy, will you make a profile and post the part of the xml code with the fan control? I would like to see what it is.

I'm going to keep the stock cooler on my HD4850 and try to fabricate the exhaust module to direct the heat through expansion slot outside from the case. Heat buildup is the biggest problem, cooler itself is quiet capable.

I put an Antec Vcool under my card and it immediately dropped about 13 degrees celcius even with the Vcool set on low speed.

Sorry fasteddy I misunderstood what you were saying in one of your posts.

    "Mine comes in automatically... sorted!"

For some reason I thought you were saying the auto was working on your fan, LOL

I'm going to put some hours in to night and try to get the auto working, the info is in one of these piles.:bang:

Exactly, it is obvious the stock cooling hardware is adequate by observing the speed at which the GPU cools when not loaded.

I'd also be interested to see your solution to exhausting the heat using the stock cooling. With the number of cards ATI will sell at these prices you might be able to make some money.

Today if everything goes well i'll make a paper prototype just to see if it's even possible. Bad thing is i'll have to use metal because if the extreme heat generated at the exhaust. Or at least high heat resistant plastic...
