I have only 2 vids, only editing I did was to splice them together and speed them up using windows movie maker so bits are sometimes boring. One is Halo 2, other is Battlefield 2.
Next one I do i'll definately use adobe CS4, movie maker is MS's worst program since winME.
used fraps for recording then converted to low res thinking that movie maker's previews showed the actual final quality, but it actually makes them better once its done..

my YouTube name is t34master, I mostly snipe in the halo 2 vid heheh :biggun:

Great piece of driving @ Watkins Glen! really clean! I thought you could've done him earlier had you been a bit more aggressive... but you got there in the end!

I figured out last week how to do uncompromised high quality 1080p videos from my extremely tweaked, now quite old beast: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheVonDach

I mostly only play BC2, nothing else have such gameplay intensity at the moment.

Sure, I scheduled it to be incorporated in my tweaks guide but I'm interested by other things at the moment. So basically here how I do:

I don't want to do real time encoding while playing, my CPU already use ~80% on his four cores for the game (BC2), and specialized software like Fraps don't give me the quality I want.

So I use MSI Afterburner (latest beta) to record uncompressed, you need a lot of HDD I/O throughput for that (>180MB/s), a uncompressed recording of let's say 30mins will take >250GB (1080p)! So you need RAID0 of two high capacity HDD, I use 2x Seagate 1.5TB 7200.12 (2x ~125MB/s = 250MB/s throughput). Two cheap WD Caviar Green 2TB is the least expensive avenue and give almost the same throughput.

    I compress later with MediaCoder:
    Video Bitrate 8000 kbps
    Rate Mode Average Bitrate
    Format H.264
    Encoder Auto Select (x264)
    Source Auto Select (MEncoder)
x264 Preset Slow (but I recommend Placebo if you have the time/power)
    Audio Format LC-AAC
    Encoder Auto Select (FAAC)
    Source Auto Select (MPlayer)
    Resample Original
    FAAC Quality 250
Picture Color Space Original (I420 give a reddish shade, like in my three oldest videos)

YouTube will convert any upload at best in H.264 6000 Kbps AAC ~160 bitrate for 1080p, that's why their is no value in higher than 8000 for me.

The resulting file will pass from ~250GB to ~1.5GB.

Then I demuxe the audio track with mkvtoolnix if I want to add songs, which I add and normalize with Audacity. Then I remuxe the edited sound track back with mkvtoolnix. I use mkvtoolnix to split the file if time greater than 14:58.

    Upload!

(I might look tough to learn but it's very simple after you did one)

Hello all, feel free to join my channel specially if you happen to like playthroughs as ive just started doing a blind playthrough of Witcher 2.

    http://www.youtube.com/user/mooshan?feature=mhee

My videos will be encoded in 720p atleast and im just starting out, though quality may be comprimised a little bit, however i feel the quality is pretty good and my upload speed is pretty bad so the settings I have are ideal.

Here is part 1 of my playthrough, I dont think the quality is bad at all. Videos originally recorded using Bandicam, a brilliant bit of software for games imo.

    You are welcome!

Additional info, you can calculate yourself how much throughput you need to record uncompressed (i.e. with no cpu usage or fps penality) with this formula:

    1920x1080x3x30/1024/1024= 177.98 MB/s

so if you record half frame (960x540) you only need 89MB/s, one HDD is enough.

Someone who want to record in real 720p will need:

    1280x720x3x30/1024/1024= 79.1 MB/s

Again only one HDD is necessary, the uncompressed file size is lower too.

Calculate your max HDD speed with CrystalDiskMark: http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskMark/index-e.html

Thing is, i knew i was faster than him and could get him. So there was no point making a 50/50 dive and ruining both our races when i could just bide my time and wait for a mistake. Could of taken him in the chicane when he got his line wrong but there was just no point.
