Lol, fair enough...... Maybe you could some parts used and some new? Is that possible? Tbh the CPU is not the fastest around...it's clocked at around 2.7ghz and is not overclockable. You could do better I think. Do u have an online store we can look at? You'd be surprised at what you can put together on a small budget...
well cpu will work about 3ghz it's going to be HUGE jump from amd x2 hmm yea DDr3 is brand new. and H100 rest is used. tho case has few scratches, my worries is will all that fit in that case :S
friend is amd x2 6000 :X tho any new game in last 2 years struggles, especially new games BF3 or new hitman.
BF3 single player or multi? Regarding the used hardware, I guess the question really is "what choice do you have?". Sounds like it's this or nothing right?
Buy the Crosshair rig, those 8xxx series chipsets still have some life left in them. And you'll have a fairly decent platform to build on should you wish/need to upgrade the CPU or GPU later. Compared to the ancient X2 it'll be a rocketship.
tho AMD Phenom II X6 1055T and GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H is little bit cheaper, but in my experience with gigabyte boards i always had problems :S
So u do have other hardware to pick from...why didn't you say so? ROG is still a kick ass board though.
I used to have a 1055t and it overclocked to 3.9GHz easy. Locked multi doesn't mean not overclockable with Phenom 2's. I wouldn't recommend that cpu tho, i had a MASSIVE boost upgrading to my 2500k (60%+ in some cpu bound games).
The only way to OC a CPU with a locked multi is via the FSB. And that is a major PITA. My old 3.0 Athlon II was locked at x15 but I got it up to 3.7Ghz, messes up the ram and NB though...you can never get them exactly right.
No, i got rid of it in july last year but i remember my old E8400 @ 3.6GHz got better FPS in games such as WoW, SC2 and any game that only used 2 threads. I regretted buying it. My 2500k in those same cpu bound games gave a massive boost that the phenom 2 didn't give me sometimes raising fps from 35-50 to 60-80 easily. Multithreaded games of course wont gain so much. Look at game benchmarks. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/147?vs=288 Game benchmarks there show why i was not happy with it as an "upgrade" tho one could argue they are pretty well cherry picked 2 thread games. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/147?vs=56
