yea ati definitely needs a driver release..4870x2 is scoring the same or within a few fps of a 4870 or even losing to it..definitely not right but we all know this and cant wait to see an update of it ..

Well seems like holding off 5870's in xfire has been the right move until drivers get better.

Although will be interesting to see how Bodar gets on with his video review!

Couldnt see the speed of the Cpu anywhere in the review. I guess that omission was on purpose or I'm being blind :)

Still am chuffed with how it runs on the 5870. Getting a slowing down with the smoke on the first level though.

I wonder if Hilbert noticed this with his tests and it affected all cards...?

    Very nice review!

    Nice comparison.

I do wonder why the Guru3D 3870X2 is scoring so low though. I play CoD:W@W (on a much weaker rig) and get much higher scores usually. Let's hope it's a Catalyst quirk...

COME ONE HILBERT!!! WE NEED THAT REVIEW OF THE 5970!!!

    Sorry for shouting...

I was thinking if the leaked specs of the 5970 is true and the core is clocked at 625MHz, and each GPU has the same specs as a single 5870. But the 5870 is clocked higher at 850MHz does this not mean that theoretically 2 single 5870's in xfire should be faster than the 5970?

Yeah cant wait for that review and I would have thought x2 5870's in xfire will be beat a 5970. Am guessing mind u.

Theoretically that's a very sound assumption, yes.

But two 5870'ies would cost you like 750~800 USD right now. Can't imagine one 5970 being that expensive.
