They can bite my fat ass. Even STEAM lets me go offline, and there I can chat with people and have a good priced store.
The sad thing is, I would have bought AC2 for the PC before reading this. People who want protection should scrap securom and anything else except Steam. That would be great.

No, but they do stick an anal probe in you with a ethernet port, and if your internet goes out or you have to take a dump, your saved games are deleted and AS2 is uninstalled.
I was very dissapointed after FC2 when i reached the limit of installations and i cannot play that game due to that crap , and i paid full price on the game , unless they desist of that sh*t i wont be buying no more games from ubisoft , this is getting ridicoulos and nonsense , ubisoft Failed again :thumbdown
yup yup you lose anything you've done in game after save or checkpoint if your internet fails or if their servers go down... WIIIIN :<
EA learned their lesson: No more third party DRM in Steam games, everyone's happy. We'll see what happens to Ubisoft...
