Really enjoyed those pics, rottentreats. I used to have: Banshee (gone) Voodoo 2 12MB (still have it) 2x Voodoo 2 12MB SLI (still have one) Voodoo 3 3000 (still have it) Voodoo 5 5500 (still have it) Then I switched to ATi.
Hello, I am looking for a boxed Voodoo 5 5500 AGP. If anyone have more than one in your collection, please let me know.
Oh well this brings memories to the best era of PC gaming. Everything felt new, every new game came up with some new technology and all of that packed in the most fierce battle ever... nvidia vs 3dfx. So I kept myself a reminder of these old times, THE card which started it all: http://xhaste.sweb.cz/23082007033.jpg I also had S3 Virge but let's be honest, it was more of a DEcelerator
My first Voodoo card was paired with an S3 virge DX, and overclocked to 60MHz, allowed me to play at 800x600 for the first time Added a fan and a cardboard shroud over it to keep it cool. The I had an AGP Banshee, which was OK, it replaced my G400 that died. I also got a PCI Voodoo 3 which i used for quite some time, as a spare, or 2nd monitor. Years later, I finally bought a Voodoo 5 5500 AGP from Brazil, which arrived, and worked OK. $62 back then Not sure where they are now though.
I have an old voodoo 5500 agp sitting in the attic, its been there in a static bag for at least 10 years probably longer, it was working just fine when I pulled it from a working system so I'm sure it still works today.
The three that I could find after moving. -Now you've made me want to locate the rest of my collection in the boxes. I know I have a Voodoo3, a Voodoo, an original "Rendition card" -- (remember V-Quake?), and a couple others from back then. Just a matter of finding them again. EDIT: Even remember the game that forced me to upgrade 'away' from 3DFX to a Geforce. Kept using the Voodoo 5 all the way until Anarchy Online.
Very very very nice thread going here, takes me way back. I remember I had a voodoo 2 I believe it was, although it wasn't AGP, it was the normal PCI, LoL. Next one it was the Diamond Stealth S530, Savage 4 pro+. Hey at ran: Drakan: Order of the Flame very nicely. Although far from being the best card at that time, still ran pretty decent.
Wow.. Jealous of Erek's specialist VooDoo cards there.. And the 6000 Quad chip! The memories! Speaking of which i'm trying to remember what i still have.. VooDoo 4MB PCI, a pair of Voodoo 2s 12MB w/SLi cable and loop cable, a Banshee, a V3 1000 8MB AGP, a 2000 PCI 16MB and 3000 PCI 16MB, a 3500TVFM and a VoodooTV card.. I'm sure there's another one i can't quite remember, 3D Magic or something.. Heck i have way too much stuff here, even some Riva 128, TNT, TNT2, GeForce 256, 2 MX, 2 Ti, 3 Ti.. Many other GeForce and Radeon cards, Matrox too.. Even an old SiS 305 and 315, an Intel i740, some S3 Virge VX and DX, some ATi Rage 128 cards.. Even a couple of ISA 512k and 1024k cards lol Even have a wonderful Gigabyte 440BX board that can handle 133FSB! And a similar ASUS board that tries but is unstable..typical ASUS, though amazingly it's still working! And a dual socket 370 Gigabyte board, a Tyan dual Socket A.. I have far too many Socket A boards kicking around in fact, three of 'em are nForce2 Ultra 400 based, even have a KT880 board! Also have a full 486 Baby AT tower, Pentium, Pentium II and III, some 4s, a socket 754 Sempron.. God, so many to list. If i ever did that i'd probably realize why i live in a two bedroom place just to store all my accumulated stuff! I even have a Slot A Athlon and matching motherboard (MSI i believe, though the BIOS flash socket is damaged ) but my goldfinger card went missing! D:
We should still have a Diamond Monster 3D 4MB, a Canopus Pure3D 6MB, three Diamond Monster 3D Voodoo II 12GB, a Diamond Monster 3D Voodoo II 3D 8GB, a Voodoo 3 and a Voodoo 5 5500 stashed away somewhere.
I used to have an Orchid Righteous 3d card back in the day on my first PC to enable playing Quake in Glide I purchased 16mb of EDO RAM at the same time to go on the following:- Pentium 100mHz Diamond Virge 3d (Replaced with a Matrox Millenium II) Sound Blaster AWE 32 (even brought RAM for this lol) Some intel mobo, no clue on name.
