I am unable to uninstall or install nTune. During both install or uninstall Windows reports an error about the MSI installer and I can't even remove ntune from Add/Remove Programs. Is there a fix for this?
System Specs Hi, Thanks for your reply. My System: Conroe 6600 Gigabyte DS4 rev3.3 Gigabyte 8800 GTS 320MB 2 x 1GB A-Data 800Mhz XP64 I wanted to update nTune to the neweset version 5.05 as my current version is not working properly. The GPU fan is not being reported and the tuning utility doesn't work.
Well, the fan control being broken is a driver issue, updating nTune doesn't help here. And in order to get the tuning utility working your motherboard needs a Nvidia chipset like 650i or something, whereas your board has a Intel chipset, so it wont work anyway. To access fan control I recommend using Riva Tuner, it can be downloaded from 3DGuru. Have you tried uninstalling nTune during Windows running in Safe Mode?
Try Windows Installer CleanUp Utility: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe More info: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
MSI Installer Cleaner Worked! Thanks I installed the MSI Installer Cleaner and ran it on the nTune install. After it ran, I was able to get into Add/Remove programs and remove nTune. I am now going to install RivaTuner instead.
