    GeForce GTS 450 review roundup

Today we test and review the NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450. Not just one in fact we'll put at least ten of these cards to the test. The GeForce GTS 450 is a lower segment mid-range...

How's it nice, it's a piece of crap. Nvidia says its supposed to line up against the 5750, yeah right, wishful thinking. The article says AMD is lowering 5770 prices to match their release price. 5770's quite a bit faster for what will be the same price.

Nice card! If the price is cheap enough it will be a good card for gamers on a small buget!

On 1440x900 or lower resolutions card will be enough and have a decent price.

hmmm lets go back to the 5770 launch...4870 with dx11 the thing was the best thing since sliced bread to some.
now comes the 450gts right on the 5770 heels in performance on launch day drivers(betas) give it a few weeks the nv bread and butter card will be faster and cheaper then the 5770.
    so stfu

Now we know why Nvidia dropped the price of the 460 768m...

It´s clear from this review that the 450 isn´t good enough to compete with the 5770, so they had to lower the price of the 460 768m to compete with the 5770.

I´m a little disappointed as i was expecting a bigger punch from the 450.

The 460 continues to be the best car from Nvidia by far...

    Great review as always!

@Hilbert....what about the memory/vrm heatsinks? I really don't hope guru3d receives the vanilla samples again and the retailers are stuck with cards without the heatsinks. At least Palit confirmed the retailers receive the same cards.

EDIT: what about Gainward? Didn't you receive the GTS450 GLH from them?

Exactly GTS450 is same price as HD 5750 so that isnt so bad thing.

GTX460 768 is little bit more expensive than HD 5770 tho...

Everyone keeps bitching that the GTS 450 is just as good as the 5770. But what most don't realize is there is a lot of gamers that won't touch ATi cards (I am one of them) so it dosen't matter if ATi had the card out first. Nivida does now and that is what matters! The last ATi card I owned was an ATI Rage...

A first glimpse of the Gainward GTS450 GS GLH:

    http://www.tweaktown.com/pressrelea...0_1gb_golden_sample_goes_like_hell/index.html

It looks like there is a difference in cooling solutions between the GS and the GS-GLH
BCBG (best cooling by gainward)-cooling versus dual copper-water-based heatpipes.
I think the cooling is identical, but only given another name. If I look it up on the Gainward website, both types show this cooling.

The thing is the price will come down on the 450.they could not make it faster it would be too close to the 460 which cuts into 470 sales as it is.

    99-120GBP as of release today.

In the reviews you say the highest clocked card is 930MHz, but that card in all uk stores is labelled 920MHz.

The Palit GTS 450 Sonic Platinum is 920MHz not 930, i find that a lil strange.

    http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gts-450-review-roundup/11

Maybe they sent one with 930 just to get better results in the tests:)

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-...DDR5-GPU-920MHz-Shader-1840MHz-192-Cores-HDMI

They told you it was a final retail product, then they pulled 10MHz off it for the real retailer.

I hope you have experienced something bad/unacceptable with some friends' Ati cards or something similar during the latest generations, because fanboyism towards a brand is just plain pointless otherwise.
