Can some plese enlighten me I am confused.

I have never overclocked any of these GPU's or CPU's with "boost clocks"

I know my i7 960 has a boost but for overclocking I disable that to get best results.

I know though that the 600 series has a base clock and a boost clock. So when overclocking them do you have to disable boost all together or do you have to set your own base clock and then set your own boost clock?

Because I am confused, say if I overclocked a Titan and set to the base clock 1000MHz but I didnt set a boost clock would the GPU just stay at 1GHz or would it try and boost upwards and risk frying the card or is it held back by drivers?

I much prefer the old way of just having one clock speed and having to raise the clocks like on my HD7970 all I have to do is raise the core and memory speeds and then add more volts where needed.

Or am I reading too much into this?

That's pretty insane, I thought they would have done more to decrease performance for DP. I can see more than just the GeForce community attempting to get their hands on one. Starting to see why the price is so high.

At that price range and performance, I see no reason as a gamer to go for this.

An overclocked 690 seems to still be top dog.

Will wait for the next dual card on this new architecture.

The only problem with the 690 is the lack of VRAM.

    I don't know why they don't do a version with 2x4GB.

2GB just isn't enough for 1600P+ gaming these days.

I was just playing Crysis 3 and was up to 2.7GB in the first few minutes - and that was with SMAA - If I used hardware AA (I'd be running at about 10FPS) and using over 3GB I suspect.

    hmmm, Hilbert???
Theres a new function added. That is what CB says..I dont find it in ur article..

i used Bing translate, hope its readable, hehe..
The new option is very interesting i shall say. The thing is, is this only possible with the new CARD or is it driver related????

It's more about the monitor, and it is going to likely be very hit or miss, most likely miss, depending on the monitor.

Anandtech said they tested monitors in their office and only one worked up to 75hz -- some Samsung display and they said it made no noticeable visual difference.

Where it will be nice is those Korean displays that were able to be driven all the way to 120hz. But yeah, most monitors won't see a benefit from this. I'm also pretty sure this has nothing to do with Titan, as you could do it through the custom monitor profile available to all Nvidia cards, this just makes it easier.

Gotta try and wait for the MSI Titan Lightning!
Does the Titan seem to not need watercooling, at all, or is it yet TBD?
I'm wondering why this series was slated to be only produced by Nvidia for so long?
1,000 bucks seems quite steep, but I think I see why it had to cost so much.
Any rumors of a dual-gpu Titan, yet? I love me some single slot dual-gpu solutions!
