Found out that my card gtx 660 oc gigabyte works only @4 in x16 slot. Any ideas? Psu is new and should be more than enough. asrock 970 extreme 3 board does not have many options i could change. Tried to re-seat it, but no luck.

I had the problem, that i used the lower slot at the start, but then i switched back to the upper one and it still shows @x4

Could it be a driver issue? Or is it can it be only hardware related?

Hardware related or BIOS settings related. Reset CMOS.

Is it maybe just a 2d power saving feature? Try opening a game?

Thanks for all the suggestions, resolved - as it was dark and late at night and i did not want to wake my girlfriend up by turning on the lights, it turns out that i put the card back into the lower slot and not the upper one. Damn. Now i put it back in the upper slot and all is fine.

Dump your girlfriend so you can turn On the lights any time you want to.

Its power saving feature. Slot automatically down clocking when you alt tab out of game.
