Ok, CD Projekt, you know you're a relatively new studio, right? With only one major title on your roster, you're putting BioWare to shame with this. TO SHAME! This looks so much better than DA:O and will probably be better than DA:2. BioWare, this is how you make a RPG, you take time, you craft the world, you give us lots of graphical options n whatnot. DA:O looks like **** and runs worse.
No, I don't have it til Monday. But I just figured I'd update it before I forgot. Hell, I didn't update I had W7 til just today and I've had it for over a year now, lol, I'm bad with updating my specs, so I did it prematurely. However, the GTX470 is rated to be 50% faster than my 280, I imagine with the 15% OC I do, it will be even better.
Okay I want this game, even thought I haven't beaten the first one yet. I just don't know which version to get.
GoG version is also available for 45$ if you use the US region selection (As per their forums and recent news update about not restriction such choice.) or about 60 Euro with two coupons you will receive to redeem one 9.99 game and one 5.99 game for free if you pay full price. (I did it anyway to support them.)
Also don't forget: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/the_witcher Only 5$. I wish Steam would have a sale for it at that price, I'd have to pick it up then.
Trailers look fabulous. Please don`t pirate this game! Vote with your wallet, let The Witcher 3 be a PC game!
My lovely smelling premium editon just turned up from shopto.net. Installed it but it quits when I click ok saying content unavailable. So near and yet so far.
What about the pre-order DLC Stone Gargoyle. Does shopto have any bonus? If so is it a voucher or something?
Yeah the game uses a "fake" SecuROM launcher type exe which tries a date check against the authentication server, once that passes the remaining data (I think it's just the proper Witcher2.exe and support files like SecuROM, Star-Force and other stuff - outside of the GoG exe.) are downloaded and replaces the launcher content. Activation servers go online on the 16th just so you know, likely afternoon or evening European time. (Planned as to allow the CE editions - especially in Poland - to arrive this week and for the fans being able to play one day early.) EDIT: For those interested here's the config file for the "Ultra" preset. [Rendering] TextureDownscale=0 AtlasTextureDownscale=0 DetailTextureDownscale=0 MaxTextureSize=2048 MaxAtlasTextureSize=4096 TextureMemoryBudget=400 TextureTimeBudget=10 MaxCubeShadowSize=1024 MaxCubeShadowCount=3 MaxSpotShadowSize=1024 MaxSpotShadowCount=3 FoliageDistanceScale=1.0 MeshDistanceScale=1.0 CharacterLodGameplayDownscale=0 AllowBloom=1 AllowShafts=1 AllowAntialias=1 AllowBlur=1 AllowDOF=1 AllowVignette=1 AllowSharpen=1 AllowRain=1 AllowSSAO=1 AllowMotionBlur=1 AllowScatterDOF=1 AllowCutsceneDOF=1 DanglesLimiter=0 ShadowQuality=3 ShadowedLights=3 Fullscreen=1 VSync=1 UberSampling=2 (Only render/GFX options, the last one for "Uber" is just a fancy name for SSAA.)
