    162C would have destroyed your GPU already and melted the PCB, so it's obviously a bug.

    Hi again guys,
    So im gonna spend again some money to a new Motherboard...
    My first choise was the ALTERNATE Upgrade Kit ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO / i7 4770K / 8GB
    Chipset: Intel® Z87 Express
    Formfactor: ATX
    DDR3: 8 GB (2x 4 GB DDR3-1600 CL9 9-9-24)
    Grafisch: Onboard, 3x PCIe x16, SLI, CrossFire
    But i ran into this other one and i have second doubts
    ALTERNATE Upgrade Kit MSI Z87-G45 Gaming / i7 4770K / 8GB
    Chipset: Intel® Z87 Express
    Formfactor: ATX
    Grafisch: Onboard, 3x PCIe x16, SLI, CrossFire
    DDR3: 8 GB (2x 4 GB DDR3-1600 CL9 9-9-24)
    Its olmost the same.
    The DDR3 hint that i got from IcE im taking it in, thank u for that.
    For DDR3 im buying the: Corsair 16 GB DDR3-2133 Kit
    (CMY16GX3M2A2133C11R, XMP)
    [IMG]
    But both motherboard are comming with DDR3 1600 on it, is it posible to put the 2133 on it?
    Can u guys tell me your toughts and what motherboard u will choose, if u are me.
    I only want my old beast back in action.
    Thank u for all ur help and suggestions.
    Greetings from Red

    Yea, you can put 2133mhz ram in. I would recommend against getting 1600mhz. All of the new Intel processors see appreciable gains with faster ram. The faster ram and lower timings you can get, the better. 2133mhz is probably ideal for cost/performance ratio.

    Hi Red, congrats on the new rig.
    I'd advice to switch on XMP profile in BIOS. Your memory is currently recognized at fail-safe settings of only 1333MHz if I'm not mistaken.

    EDIT: and please make sure your core voltage isn't really set at 1.728V!

    @FatBoyNL:
    Ok ill do that and if i do that will i need to change annything els beside XMP.?
    Your right about the 1333MHz
    Ill take a look at my Core Voltage in bios, sometimes the CPU-Z program gives not the correct data....i wonder why that is.
    I wanna thank u for ur quick reply.

    Hello again,
    About my core voltage is was set on 1.056V , and the Cash Voltage on 1.125V
    So i changed to XMP and afther reading about what i need to change and stuff, here's result:
    [IMG]

    Dram ->2133MHz
    Dram Volt -> 1.5V
    CasLat -> 11
    CasDelay -> 11
    Pre Time -> 11
    Act Time -> 27
    Command Rate 2
    I still get the 3.900MHz on I-7, am i doing something wrong or do i forget something?
    Thank u for ur help on my DDR3 :D

    I don't know that Z87 mobo, but I suggest you look for something like 'Turbo Ratio -> By All Cores' and a setting like 'By All Cores (Can Adjust in OS) -> 42'.
    Everything else can be left at Auto/defaults for now.

    That way, the Turbo is applied to all cores with a multiplier of 42 (x100), which will give you a freq of 4200MHz. After that, take one step at the time and get yourself familiar with the BIOS settings by reading a lot about it on the net.

    btw fixed 3.9ghz @ 1.056v is because of high performance windows power plan, set it to balanced mode and it will drop to idle 800mhz @ 0.72v.

    Also that voltage looks ok, I think you could do 4.5ghz below 1.20v, probably ~ 1.17-1.19v area.

    Don't mean to be off topic, but that chip fan is sweet! I have a noctua and it got my i5 up to 4.5ghz. :)
