Looks like it'll play like RE4 to me. I can't convey how excited that makes me.

I actually just narrowly avoided death by a (mini) heart attack when the scene with the 'bloody, four-armed Sadako' rose up from the bloodied floor was being played and my niece suddenly burst through my room's door. (hint: my niece has a long hair)

    From reddit:

The story focuses on Detective Sebastian and his partner, who arrive at a crime scene. A powerful force is said to be laying in wait for them, which causes the police officers at the scene to attack and kill one another, until finally turning on Sebastian, who loses consciousness, eventually waking up in a world inhabited by monsters, Sebastian must figure out what happened and find a way out, but will need to face his fears in order to survive on a journey to discover what lies in the shadows of that mysterious force.

    Key Features

Pure survival horror: Directed by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within’s described as a “return to pure survival horror.” Players must survive on limited resources, experiencing action, horror, and indescribable terror all throughout.

Traps and puzzles: While struggling to survive, you’ll have to face indescribable terror, cruel traps, and sly mechanisms. It’s possible to die all too easily to traps, so it’s up to the player to reconfigure these elements and use them to their advantage against their opponents.

Changing environments: Everything in the game, hallways, walls, doors, rooms, buildings, and even nature, all transforming in real time based on the player’s actions.

Its like a mixture of Silent Hill and Jericho.

But damn those textures are poor!

Look at the top screenshot and look at the top right, that wall looks god awful. Still if the atmosphere is nailed with great lighting, sound, and effects like fog/mist then count me in.

Its about time Shinji Mikami did something in the horror genre again.

While the game looks awesome, if that concept art debacle is true I'm seriously put off. It's a very sloppy mistake, and borderline insulting toward the playerbase.
