1. Most VIVO models flash to XT [16 pipelines] fine [Saphire, Connect3D, Gigabyte, Powercolour, HIS]. 2. I'll refer you to the following disclaimer: 3. It is not a VIVO so 9/10 it will not unlock the 4 locked pixel pipelines [12 -> 16] via flashing. That doesn't mean you can't attempt hardmodding it. [Repeated post for the thread]

It doesn't have the rage theatre chip on the back. If that is an actual picture of the card if you arder it, then no, it will not flash. I know the advertisement says VIVO, but VIVO cards have a CD input below the power connection molex and a rage theatre chip on the back of the card. If a card says and doesn't have these items, than it isn't a VIVO and probably will not flash.
VIVO = Comes with RageTheater chip = Rushed OEM's softlock X800XTPE's to VIVO X800Pro's to fill demand.
The thing is I just bought a x800 pro that is signified as being produced by ATI not by other manufacturers. The stats on the ATI website states that the pro doesn't have video in features, so i was wondering if ATI even makes Vivo cards or just other companies do it.
Not sure, but seeing as the press sample BBA [Built By ATi] X800Pro's were all VIVO models, a few have to exist somewhere.
SWEET! W00t thnx dude, hehe! EDIT: IT CAME IN AND IT HAS A RAGE THEATRE CHIP!!!! w00t I LUV U ALL!! ok i'm done ^^ so if i have anyproblems with the flashing i'll be back to bother you guys again! thnx
My friends, it turns out that my BBA X800 Pro overclocks pretty well, I can run any benchmark or game @ 540/570 (and even more). Is it any indication that this could be an easily moddable card? I still have to find a conductive pen ...
If your card has a yellow connector just below the power connection and/or the rage 3D theatre chip on the back of the card, then it will easily mod into an XT PE because it is a VIVO. If not, I don't think it will mod at all. At least the last two X800Pro non-VIVO's I've owned would not mod, even with doing the hard mod and flash.
Success - Sapphire ATI X800 Pro VIVO -> ATI X800 XT Platnium Edition I orginally ordered a Leadtek Geforce 6800 TDH (advertised as having 12 pixel pipelines and 5 vertex pipelines. I got the LE model instead, paying a premium for it. Leadtek confirmed that this card should not be sold in North American market at all. Needless to say it had 8 pixel pipelines 4 vertex pipes. I figured this out by coming to these boards and reading about rivatuner and I thought I would try and unlock pipelines on the 6800 card. Well that didnt work to good. Then I started reading about the X800 I sent the 6800 back and ordered a Sapphire ATI X800 Pro VIVO for around 200 CAN more. This card has now successfully been bios flashed and runs great under xp as an ATI X800 XT Platnium Edition @ 519.75 core and 560.25 memory (41 gpu temp | 36 chip temp) have not tried overclocking yet I am finding however that perhpas my system is not keeping up. Any suggestions on getting this box running quicker?
Congrats on the flash. Your system is probably the minimum that these higher end cards should be run on. I am actually running a bit less than you, with a P-4 3.06GHz cpu and only 533MHz fsb. You are using PC3200 ram so that is telling me you are running 800MHz on your fsb, which is great. Let the 3DMark05 run it's course and see where you score. I have been scoring in the low 5000's with my meger system. And you would be surprised what a little bit of overclocking on your cpu will net you. This is where the X800's get bottle necked. Just go a little at a time to make sure your system is stable and the heat is controlled. I think you will do much better by overclocking your cpu some. Also, install the Cat 4.10 Betas (Build 8.07) Seems as though our X800's have been handicapped because with all the previous Cat drivers, the cards were not able but to utilize 128MB of the 256MB memory the cards have. The 4.10 Betas fixes that. My 3DMark05 score jumped from 3563 using the 4.9's to 5081 using the 4.10 Betas. If you install the 4.10 betas and score in the high 4000's to the low 5000's, without overclocking your cpu, then I'd say you are good to go. But if you do oc your cpu some, you will definately see improvements in your scores and gameplay.
I am having an issue with ATI's CCC 4.9 driver and the beta 8.07 driver. For some reason I cant control my anolog monitor refresh rate for instance I can change the refresh rate to 75hz @ 1280x1024 when the monitor only can do 60hz @ 1024 x 768 basically in any resolution it will do 60hz only no matter what I tell it to do. Also the monitor in windows is being displayed as default monitor. I tried manually selecting from the driver list "Korea Data Systems Visual Sensations VS-7i" which I know it is from the previous video card. and it only shows the correct refresh rates for the mointor at certain resolutions but still the monitor will not obey the command to go into 75hz @ 1024 x768 I re installed windows with fresh driver install and still no luck. Any suggestions?
you dont have to run the new CCC panel with the 8.07's you can use the older version control panel.not sure if this will help but its worth a try. Flashnc
